A Child's Heart Inside

Remember the wonder we felt as children
As Christmastime came near?
That warm and lovely feeling
That always came this time of year?
Somehow that feeling left me
When I lost the child inside.
Years and years have passed since then
And I've never even tried
To look at Christmas as I did then,
With a child's heart inside.

This Christmas will be different though;
So many things have changed.
The world is very different now;
It's all been rearranged.
I found a place inside me now,
Where the child has gone to hide,
And as a child this Christmas,
I'll have a child's heart inside.

May the love, peace, and wonder of Christmas
Be with you now and always.
