A plethora of Gmail shortcuts
All computer users

It's no secret we like Gmail - better than Hotmail, better than Yahoo mail,  and WAY better than Windows Live Mail. There are lots of reasons why we like Gmail - but the number one reason is because you can get a free Gmail account and use it like you use your ISP account. Just like your RoadRunner, Cox, Charter, Comcast...well you get the idea - insert your own ISP in that list.

You can access Gmail with almost any POP3 or IMAP email client, including Outlook, Outlook Express, Windows Mail, Eudora, Thunderbird, and many more. No matter which email program you use, you can access your Gmail account with it. Unlike Hotmail or Yahoo mail you don't have pay for the privilege (or download a funky special program to access it). So yes, we sing the praises of Gmail because we use it all the time - every day in many ways.

It really makes no sense not to have a Gmail account and set it up in your email program. You get the best of both worlds - you can access it from the Web with your browser from anywhere, from any computer (safety precautions apply) or from home with your everyday email program. If you take a laptop with you when you travel, you can access your Gmail account using your email program from anywhere. You can send and receive messages from your Gmail account just as easily as from your own ISP account and it's just as fast and convenient.

Before you go off thinking we're hypocrites for blasting Windows Live Mail because it's in "the cloud" and so is Gmail - there's one big difference. Windows Live Mail puts EVERY one of your email accounts on the Web - every message - including your ISP accounts, your Hotmail account - all of your accounts. Like putting all your eggs in one basket only storing that basket in the now almost ubiquitous cloud. With Gmail, you're just putting your Gmail account in the cloud. Big difference. If you don't see the difference,  write to EB and she'll explain it :)

Anyway, by now, a majority of you have a Gmail account. So we're publishing this list of shortcuts you can use when working with your gmail account on the Web using your favorite Web browser. We hope it helps save you time. Time is precious, you know.
