A word about spyware and adware A recent article shows that nearly over half of all home computers are infected with spyware or adware. Those of us who like beautiful graphics, screen savers, smileys, and that sort of thing, are particularly susceptible to installing spyware or adware - many so-called "free" screen savers, smiley toolbars, and other graphic-oriented programs and toolbars - may be free of charge, but they're not free.
