What’s Up With Your Browser?
Whatever browser you use, you need to make sure you’re using the latest, most secure version. You can look under “Help”, “About”, and it will give your browser version…but wouldn’t it be nice to be able to check your browser to make sure you’re using the latest version PLUS see if your Flash, Java, and JavaScript are enabled and up-to-date.
No matter what browser you use, you can check it for the latest updates and versions and a lot moreΒ by visiting this Cloudeight Site Pick.
I do not want to change to Yahoo as my search engine so can I download Java without using Yahoo?
What you use for a search engine has nothing to do with Java.
When I checked on the website link, it said that Java Script is not installed or is disabled. Do you advise enabling Java Script? Thanks Guys!!
If you don’t enable JavaScript many sites won’t work correctly. JavaScript is not the same as Java.
I have updated Chrome but need confirmation from you regarding Java. I’m sure it was at your suggestion quite awhile ago, that Java created problems and I disabled it.
You can’t update Java in Chrome. Chrome no longer support Java plugins or applets.
Dear TC and EB…..I have just seen your article “What’s Up with your Browser”….I checked and found that I did not have JAVA…..I have now downloaded it…..BUT now read that it can cause problems.. ..Is this in fact so ?? Should I then remove it ? Best wishes from one of the subjects that keep you busy asking questions…..
Gerry from the UK.
You don’t need Java unless you frequently visit Web sites that need it. Some game sites still use Java.
This is really cool and so easy! Thank you TC and EB once again. π
Thanks, this is a great asset. Is there anyway the URL can be made into a program that I could install on all 7 computers I am responsible for? It would make things more convenient. Respectfully,
Sorry, about that last message, I figured it out.
