The Windows Run Command – You Don’t Need to Be a Geek\u00a0<\/span><\/h1>\n

OK folks. This tip works in Windows 7, Windows 8x and windows 10. <\/span><\/p>\n

When you open a Run command by pressing the Windows Key + R, you can open a program or a web page.<\/p>\n

Use the Win+R keyboard shortcut to open the Run dialog box. Type the name of any program in the dialog and press Enter (some applications require you to type a file path too). Here’s some applications that don’t need you to type a file path to open:<\/p>\n

Try it right now. Press & hold down the Windows Key and press the R key. The Run dialog will open. Now type any of the following commands in the command line and press Enter.<\/p>\n

Notepad
\n<\/span>MSINFO32
\nWordPad
\niexplore.exe (Internet Explorer)
\nRSTRUI.exe (System Restore)
\nMSPaint (Microsoft Paint)
\nMSCONFIG (Configuration utility)
\nWinMail.exe (if Windows Mail is installed)
\nSERVICES.MSC (Windows Services)
\nWRITE (Opens WordPad)
\nChrome
\nFirefox
\n<\/span>Winver
\nCalc (opens the calculator)<\/p>\n

You can also enter a URL directly into this field to open up any webpage in your default browser. Try http:\/\/thundercloud.net\/start\/<\/a>\u00a0 \ud83d\ude42<\/span><\/p>\n

There are tons of other command too, but woe is me, I’m tired of trying to think of them!<\/p>\n
