Control Your Notification Icons In Windows 10<\/strong><\/h1>\n

One thing that makes Windows 10 stand out is that it offers a ton of customization features \u2013 for instance Notification icons.. Those are the icons that appear in the area on the right-hand side of your taskbar (assuming your taskbar is at the bottom) next to the clock.<\/p>\n

It\u2019s easy to control what shows and doesn\u2019t show up in the Notification portion of the taskbar \u2013 and we\u2019re going show you just how easy it is.<\/p>\n

— Right-click on any empty area of your taskbar and select \u201cProperties\u201d
\n— Click on Customize (see image below):<\/p>\n

The Settings dialog will open to \u201cSystem\u201d \u201cNotifications & actions\u201d (see below):<\/p>\n

<\/p>\n

Click on \u201cSelect which icons appear in on the taskbar\u2026\u201d (this will be in the notification area to the left of the clock).<\/p>\n

<\/p>\n

If you want something to always show in the portion of the taskbar to the very left of the clock slide the on\/off switch to On.
\nSee below I switched \u201cFaststone Capture\u201d to On \u2013 so now it shows in my the area of my Taskbar near the clock \u2013 or what we generally call the Notification area.<\/p>\n

And below you can see Faststone Capture now appears in the Notification area of the Taskbar:<\/p>\n

<\/p>\n

And while we on the subject, don\u2019t forget the little up arrow (circled in white above). This displays other hidden icons in the Notification area.<\/p>\n

Now you know how to make icons show and how to hide icons in the Notification area of the taskbar.<\/p>\n

Now go forth and keep customize your taskbar icons to suit you \u2013 not the suits at Microsoft.<\/p>\n
