Windows Run Commands: They Are Not for Just Geeks You Know!<\/h1>\n

Most of these commands work on Windows 7, Windows 8x, and Windows 10.<\/span><\/em><\/p>\n

When you open a Run command by pressing the Windows Key + R, you can open a program or a web page.<\/p>\n

Use the Win+R keyboard shortcut to open the Run dialog box. Type the name of any program in the dialog and press Enter (some applications require you to type a file path too). Here’s some applications that don’t need you to type a file path to open:<\/p>\n

Try it right now. Press & hold down the Windows Key and press the R key. The Run dialog will open. Now type any of the following commands in the command line and press Enter.<\/p>\n

\niexplore.exe (Internet Explorer)
\nRSTRUI.exe (System Restore)
\nMSPaint (Microsoft Paint)

\nWRITE (Opens WordPad)

\nCalc (opens the calculator)
\nWinVer (displays your Windows version)
\nControl (opens Control Panel)
\nCMD (opens a Command Prompt)
\nutilman (opens Ease of Access Center)
\nnetplwiz (opens User Accounts)
\ncleanmgr (Opens Windows Cleanup)
\nDocuments (Opens your documents folder)
\nDownloads (Opens your downloads folder)
