We&#8217;ll try to cover most of them here.\u00a0<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-size: 14pt; font-family: helvetica, arial, sans-serif;\">Windows 10 includes the Windows Recovery Environment (Windows RE), which gives you essential tools for troubleshooting Windows problems and repairing startup problems.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-size: 14pt; font-family: helvetica, arial, sans-serif;\">To access Advance Boot options, restart your computer while holding down the Shift key. This should bring up the Advanced Boot options menu. If it doesn&#8217;t, you have more options.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-size: 14pt; font-family: helvetica, arial, sans-serif;\">Turn your PC on and off three times. That is power off your PC and turn it on. When you see your computer&#8217;s manufacturer&#8217;s logo (Dell, HP, Acer, ASUS, etc.) turn off your PC. Repeat this three times and Windows 10 <em>should<\/em> automatically boot up the fourth time into Windows 10 RE (Recovery Environment) Advanced Options menu.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-size: 14pt; font-family: helvetica, arial, sans-serif;\">You can also start Windows RE from a Windows 10 installation DVD or USB, from a recovery drive (which you can make yourself \u2014 <a href=\"https:\/\/www.thundercloud.net\/infoave\/new\/how-to-make-a-windows-10-recovery-drive\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"> see this page<\/a>), or from the recovery partition on your device, if that option is available.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-size: 14pt; font-family: helvetica, arial, sans-serif;\">The initial &#8220;Choose An Option&#8221; menu allows you to click Continue to start Windows normally. This is the option to choose if your system automatically booted into Windows RE (Recovery Environment) because of a minor issue that doesn\u2019t need repair. If you click \u201cTroubleshoot\u201d in the &#8220;Choose an Option&#8221; menu, you\u2019ll see options similar to those below:<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-size: 14pt; font-family: helvetica, arial, sans-serif;\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone\" src=\"http:\/\/thundercloud.net\/infoave\/images\/2016\/re1.png\" alt=\"\" width=\"600\" height=\"377\" \/><\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-size: 14pt; font-family: helvetica, arial, sans-serif;\">If you click on Advanced Options (above), you\u2019ll see the following menu:<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-size: 14pt; font-family: helvetica, arial, sans-serif;\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone\" src=\"http:\/\/thundercloud.net\/infoave\/images\/2016\/re2.png\" alt=\"\" width=\"600\" height=\"378\" \/><\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-size: 14pt; font-family: helvetica, arial, sans-serif;\">The options above are explained below:<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-size: 14pt; font-family: helvetica, arial, sans-serif;\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone\" src=\"http:\/\/thundercloud.net\/infoave\/images\/2016\/recovery-options-10small.png\" alt=\"\" width=\"600\" height=\"297\" \/><\/span><br \/>\n<strong><span style=\"font-size: 14pt; font-family: helvetica, arial, sans-serif;\"><em>System R<\/em><i>estore<\/i><\/span><\/strong><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-size: 14pt; font-family: helvetica, arial, sans-serif;\">Allows you to choose a restore point created earlier and restore the system configuration.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><strong><span style=\"font-size: 14pt; font-family: helvetica, arial, sans-serif;\"><em>System Image Recovery<\/em><\/span><\/strong><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-size: 14pt; font-family: helvetica, arial, sans-serif;\">Replaces everything on the computer with a system image created using the Windows Backup utility from Windows 7 or later. (This utility is available in the Control Panel, <\/span><span style=\"font-size: 14pt; font-family: helvetica, arial, sans-serif;\">via the System Image Backup link, at the bottom of the File History option.)<\/span><\/p>\n<p><strong><span style=\"font-size: 14pt; font-family: helvetica, arial, sans-serif;\"><em>Startup Repair<\/em><\/span><\/strong><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-size: 14pt; font-family: helvetica, arial, sans-serif;\">If you choose this option, Windows attempts to diagnose and automatically correct common boot problems.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><strong><span style=\"font-size: 14pt; font-family: helvetica, arial, sans-serif;\"><em>Command Prompt<\/em><\/span><\/strong><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-size: 14pt; font-family: helvetica, arial, sans-serif;\">This option opens an administrator command prompt, where you can use commands and command-line tools.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><strong><span style=\"font-size: 14pt; font-family: helvetica, arial, sans-serif;\"><em>UEFI Firmware Settings<\/em><\/span><\/strong><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-size: 14pt; font-family: helvetica, arial, sans-serif;\">Allows you to change startup settings such as boot order and Secure Boot.
