Something Old, Something New: Windows 10 Troubleshooters in Creators Update<\/h1>\n

How many of you knew that Windows 10 has always included over two dozen troubleshooter that were designed to help users troubleshoot a variety of common Windows 10 problems? These troubleshooters were designed to assist users with common Windows \u00a0problems like\u00a0Internet connections, video playback, Windows update, keyboard and dozens more.<\/p>\n

We’re betting not a lot of people knew\u00a0that over 2 dozen troubleshooters have always been included in Windows 10. But you’d have to know \u00a0that they existed and where they were in order to access them; they were located off the beaten path in Control Panel\\All Control Panel Items\\Troubleshooting\\All Categories<\/p>\n

Many articles sprouting up on the Web\u00a0that make it sound like the troubleshooters in Windows 10 Creators Update are something brand new, they actually have been around for quite a while. What the Creators update does do, however, is put the troubleshooters where you can easily find them…<\/p>\n

Settings –> Update & security —> Troubleshoot<\/p>\n

Let’s look at the troubleshooting section of Windows 10 as it was, then look at the troubleshooting section of Windows 10 Creators Update.<\/p>\n

Here are the troubleshooters that have always been included in Windows 10. They are located in Control Panel — All Control Panel Items–>Troubleshooting—>All Categories:<\/p>\n

In Windows 10 Creators Update, the Windows 10 troubleshooters are located in Settings–> Update & security –> Troubleshoot.<\/p>\n

In the Creators update the troubleshooters are broken down in to two categories:<\/p>\n

  1. Get up and running<\/li>\n
  2. Find and fix other problems<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n

    While we have not had a whole lot of success with Windows troubleshooters – if you have, we hope you will let us know. We have tried them on many occasions and found they weren’t very effective.<\/p>\n

    Let’s hope Microsoft has made some improvements in the troubleshooters included in the Windows 10 Creators Update. One thing for sure, they’ve made them a whole lot easier to find.<\/p>\n
