And it&#8217;s easy to change your file &amp; folder options to make opening files and folders with a single click the default action on Windows 10.<\/p>\n<ol>\n<li>Open File Explorer by clicking its icon on the taskbar or press Windows Key + E<\/li>\n<li>In File Explorer, click on View (on the toolbar) then click &#8220;Options&#8221; \u00a0and &#8220;Change folder and search options&#8221; to open the Folder Options dialog:\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-full\" src=\"http:\/\/thundercloud.net\/infove\/images\/2017\/single-click.png\" alt=\"Cloudeight InfoAve\" width=\"406\" height=\"186\" \/><\/li>\n<li>\u00a0In the Folder Options dialog tick the circle next to &#8220;Single-click to open an item (point to select)&#8221;. You&#8217;ll see that when you do that &#8220;Underline icon titles only when I point at them&#8221; is also selected. We suggest you leave it that way, the other choice &#8220;Underline titles consistent with my browser&#8221; can get messy. Then click &#8220;Apply\/OK&#8221;.\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-full\" src=\"http:\/\/thundercloud.net\/infove\/images\/2017\/single-click1.png\" alt=\"Cloudeight InfoAve\" width=\"555\" height=\"703\" \/><\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<p>That&#8217;s all there is to it. After you change these settings, you can open files and folders with a single-click. If you decide you want to go back to double-clicking to open files and folder, just go back to the Folder options dialog and tick the circle next to &#8220;Double-click to open an item (single-click to select)&#8221;. Click Apply \/ OK and you&#8217;re back to double-clicking to open files &amp; folders for your default action.<\/p>\n<p>Extra tip! You can also get to Folder options from Control Panel. In Large icon view, click on &#8220;File and folder options&#8221;. You can open Control Panel &#8211; even if you have no shortcut for it, by opening a run box (Windows Key +R).
