Search Windows 10 by File Type<\/h1>\n

In Windows 10, you can search for files by type. For instance, in this case, I opened Start and typed “files:pdf” (without the quotes). Then click the documents icon at the top – to tell Windows you want to search all documents with a .pdf extension. Windows returns a list of all PDF files on my PC. See?<\/p>\n

If you’re looking for a list of all the PNG images files on your computer, type: “Photos:PNG” (no quotes, of course) click the down-arrow at the top-right to open filters, and choose “Photos”. Or if you have a troop of music files, type Music:MP3, filter by “Music” and you’ll get a list of MP3 music files. You get the idea, right?<\/p>\n

You can do the same thing for Apps, Settings, Folders and more. Just follow the same syntax of “file-type:specifier” and apply a filter (if needed).<\/p>\n
