It was spaghetti with meat<br \/>\nNo, it was not a good holiday treat<br \/>\nBut I ate it I tell you as I sat all alone&#8230;<br \/>\nJust can of spaghetti and one strawberry scone.<\/p>\n<p>I turned on the TV and it started hissing<br \/>\nA voice said to me \u201cDo you know what you\u2019re missing?\u201d<br \/>\nIn a white robe she appeared on my screen<br \/>\nShe said \u201cYou are lonely and mean!\u201d<\/p>\n<p>I looked at her and said \u201cAre you talking to me?<br \/>\nSurely you\u2019re not, for plainly you see,<br \/>\nI am eating spaghetti straight out of a can<br \/>\nI have every convenience except a saucepan\u201d<\/p>\n<p>She smiled and looked right into my eyes<br \/>\n&#8220;Grab hold of my hand, I have quite a surprise!&#8221;<br \/>\n\u201cYou&#8217;re surely kidding, you\u2019re inside my TV!\u201d<br \/>\nShe said \u201cDo what I say and soon you will see.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>I felt like a fool sticking my hand in the screen<br \/>\nBut I did it and saw something I\u2019d never seen.<br \/>\nI was floating around with some lady in white<br \/>\nLooking down on a village on a cold Christmas night.<\/p>\n<p>I saw families gathered with smiles on their faces<br \/>\nDancing by fires in brick fireplaces.<br \/>\nPresents were scattered through all of the houses<br \/>\nDads with new sweaters and moms with new blouses!<\/p>\n<p>There were smiles everywhere, and you could see all the love<br \/>\nChurch bells were ringing! Snow fell from above!<br \/>\nThe ground sparkled in white, the snow all a&#8217;glisten<br \/>\nThe lady in white said &#8220;Shhhhh! Be quiet and listen!\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Floating around with a lady in white,<br \/>\nAbove a small village on a cold Christmas night<br \/>\nI hear people singing, I could feel all the joy!<br \/>\nIn fact I am feeling like a young schoolboy.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cDo you feel the love? Do you hear them all singing?\u201d<br \/>\nThe snow kept on falling; the church bells were ringing.<br \/>\n&#8220;I do&#8221; I answered as we flew over the town,<br \/>\nAnd I saw nothing but smiles &#8211; not one single frown.<\/p>\n<p>She smiled and took me to where I don&#8217;t know&#8230;<br \/>\nIt was a place far away, a place far below,<br \/>\nI saw an old man alone and confused,<br \/>\nHe did not look happy, no&#8230; not one bit amused!<\/p>\n<p>He was all wrinkled, a pathetic old man<br \/>\nEating spaghetti with meat right out of a can!<br \/>\nThe lady in white said \u201cTell me what do you see?\u201d<br \/>\n\u201cI see my own future. That old man is me!\u201d<\/p>\n<p>\u201cNow you have seen what the future will be\u201d<br \/>\n&#8220;Yes! If I don&#8217;t change, that&#8217;s what I will be!<br \/>\nShe took me back home and I floated no more<br \/>\nI must have been dreaming right there on the floor!<\/p>\n<p>I got up and showered, and put on some new clothes<br \/>\nI opened my door and felt the snow on my nose!<br \/>\nI walked down the street and with a smile on my face<br \/>\n\u201cMerry Christmas\u201d I shouted&#8230; all over the place!<\/p>\n<p>I went to my neighbors and shouted &#8220;Come over and dine!<br \/>\nI have turkey and pie and some really good wine.<br \/>\nI called my own children \u2013 \u201cCome see your old dad!\u201d<br \/>\nI could tell by their voices that they were so glad.<\/p>\n<p>That evening we gathered for a big Christmas feast<br \/>\nThe bread was amazing, it was pumped with the yeast.<br \/>\nThe turkey was tender and the pie was supreme &#8211;<br \/>\nMy\u00a0 family together, it seemed like a dream.<\/p>\n<p>And perhaps we should think&#8230; lest we end up alone<br \/>\nEating spaghetti with meat and an old stale scone.<br \/>\nIt&#8217;s never too late to make everything right<br \/>\nAnd what time is there\u2026<\/p>\n<p>Than on this\u00a0Christmas night?<\/p>\n<hr \/>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"http:\/\/thundercloud.net\/infoave\/images\/2018\/christmasbears.png\" alt=\"Cloudeight InfoAve\" width=\"494\" height=\"168\" \/><\/p>\n<h3><span style=\"color: #008000;\">Merry Christmas and all the best in the new year!<\/span><\/h3>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>A Christmas Poem Another Christmas and I&#8217;m dressed up in plaid, And feeling quite grouchy and really quite sad.
