Fixing Windows 10 Internet Connection Problems & Resetting Windows 10 Network Settings<\/span><\/strong><\/p>\n

There is nothing so annoying not being able to access the Internet… you can\u2019t even get online to check for help.<\/span><\/p>\n

In this article, we’re going to cover several ways you can fix your internet problems including completely resetting your Windows 10 network settings. Remember though, resetting your Windows 10 network settings should be the last thing you try – and only after you’ve tried everything else we cover here.<\/span><\/p>\n

1. Make sure it\u2019s your computer\u2019s problem<\/strong>. If you have another device in the house like a tablet or smartphone and it cannot connect either \u2013 it\u2019s not your PC \u2013 it\u2019s your internet provider or your equipment. If your Internet connection is not working at all for any device, call your ISP. If it\u2019s just your computer that cannot connect then move on to step #2.<\/span><\/p>\n

2. Power cycle your modem\/router<\/strong>. See our article about power cycling here<\/strong>.<\/a><\/span><\/p>\n

If this does not help, move on to step #3.<\/span><\/p>\n

3. Run Windows Network Troubleshooters<\/strong> (right-click on your connection icon and click \u201cTroubleshoot problems\u201d \u2013 you can also find network troubleshooters in Settings > Network & Internet > Status.)<\/span><\/p>\n

If you still cannot connect then try resetting all Windows network settings. This will remove and reinstall all your network adapters and reset all networking components back to their default settings. If you\u2019re using a Wi-Fi connection, you may need to enter your Wi-Fi password after you do a network reset, so make sure you know what your wireless password is before you begin. How to Completely Reset Windows 10 Network Settings<\/span><\/h2>\n

1. Open Settings ( type settings in the taskbar search or right-click the start button and click \u201cSettings\u201d)<\/span><\/p>\n

2. In Settings click on Network & Internet. Under Status, near the bottom, click Reset network.<\/span><\/p>\n

If you want to proceed with completely resetting Windows 10 Network settings, click on the \u201cReset now\u201d button. Windows will remove all network adapters reinstall them and return all your network settings back to their original values.<\/span><\/p>\n

REMINDER: Make sure you know what your Wi-Fi network password is<\/a> before you begin. You may need it to log in to your Wi-Fi network once it is reset.
