And, to be brutally honest, some of the earlier attempts to create accurate speech-to-text conversion were not very good &#8211; or very accurate. Some were downright awful.<\/p>\n<p>I&#8217;m happy to tell you that speech-to-text programs have improved greatly over the years and text to speech software has become amazingly accurate &#8211; especially once it gets use to the way you speak.<\/p>\n<p>And how fortunate for all of us who have had occasion to use speech-to-text software that we have easy access to excellent free speech-to-text software.\u00a0 We&#8217;ve featured a free online speech-to-text application called<a href=\"https:\/\/www.thundercloud.net\/infoave\/new\/you-talk-it-types\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\"> <span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">SpeechTexter<\/span><\/a> , and we showed you <a href=\"https:\/\/www.thundercloud.net\/infoave\/new\/how-to-use-the-dictation-feature-in-windows-10\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\"><span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">how to use the speech-to-text features in Windows 10.<\/span><\/a><\/p>\n<p>Today, we&#8217;re going to show you another free speech-to-text application and it&#8217;s also something most of you already have. If you have a Gmail address, you have a Google account &#8211; and if you have a Google account you can use Google&#8217;s excellent speech-to-text technology to create a Google document or Google presentation.<\/p>\n<p>Google calls it &#8220;voice typing&#8221; and I guess that sums it up pretty well. If you have a Google account and have Google Chrome browser installed, you can use &#8220;voice typing&#8221;.<\/p>\n<p>Here&#8217;s how:<\/p>\n<p>1.) Make sure your Microphone is on and working.<br \/>\n2.) Use Google Chrome to sign into your Google account<br \/>\n3.) Open a document in Google Docs with a Chrome browser.<br \/>\n4.) When you&#8217;re ready to speak, click the microphone.<br \/>\n6.) Now save your masterpiece and you&#8217;re done.<\/p>\n<p>Here are some other things you need to know about Google&#8217;s voice typing straight from <a href=\"https:\/\/support.google.com\/docs\/answer\/4492226?hl=en\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Google&#8217;s voice typing page<\/a>.<\/p>\n<h3><span style=\"font-family: helvetica, arial, sans-serif; font-size: 18pt;\">You Can Correct mistakes while voice typing<\/span><\/h3>\n<ul>\n<li>If you make a mistake while you&#8217;re typing with your voice, you can move your cursor to the mistake and fix it without turning off the microphone.<\/li>\n<li>After you correct the mistake, move the cursor back to where you want to continue.<\/li>\n<li>To see a list of suggestions, right-click words underlined in gray.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h2><span style=\"font-family: helvetica, arial, sans-serif;\">Punctuation<\/span><\/h2>\n<p>You can use these phrases to add punctuation to your text:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Period<\/li>\n<li>Comma<\/li>\n<li>Exclamation point<\/li>\n<li>Question mark<\/li>\n<li>New line<\/li>\n<li>New paragraph<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>Notes<\/strong>:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Punctuation works in German, English, Spanish, French, Italian, and Russian.<\/li>\n<li>In Spanish, punctuation at the beginning of the sentence, like\u00a0\u00a1 or \u00bf,\u00a0must be typed.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Those are the basics of voice typing using your Google account.
