A History of Windows 10: Windows 10 Versions to Date<\/strong><\/span><\/h1>\n

Windows is now a \u2018service\u2019 and as such it will receive major \u2018version\u2019 updates twice each year. It was not always so, but now we all now moseying down that path. It’s a good time to review the versions of Windows 10 that have been released thus far because soon you won\u2019t be able to tell the players without a scorecard \u2014 and you know what we mean!<\/span><\/p>\n

Keep in mind that (according to Microsoft) each version update of Windows will be supported by for approximately 18 months after its release date. This means that Windows 10 versions 1507, 1511, 1607, and 1703 have now reached their end-of-life dates and, according to Microsoft, will not receive any further updates.<\/span><\/p>\n

Here\u2019s a list of the Windows 10 versions that have released, along with the version\u2019s original release date:<\/span><\/p>\n

Version 1507:<\/strong> The very first release of Windows 10. It was released on July 20, 2015.<\/span><\/p>\n

Version 1511:<\/strong> This version is also known as the November update. Windows 10 version 1511 was released on November 12, 2015.<\/span><\/p>\n

Version 1607:<\/strong> The version is known as the Anniversary Update. This update was released on August 2, 2016.<\/span><\/p>\n

Version 1703:<\/strong> Also known as the Creators Update. It was released on April 11, 2017.<\/span><\/p>\n

Version 1709:<\/strong> Known as the Fall Creators Update, this update was released on October 17, 2017.<\/span><\/p>\n

Version 1803:<\/strong> Also known as April 2018 update, it was released on April 20, 2019.<\/span><\/p>\n

Version 1809:\u00a0<\/strong>The October 2018 update was originally released on October 5, 2019, however, Microsoft stop distribution after serious problems were discovered. Version 1809 was re-released on November 13, 2018. It is still rolling out and as of March 1,\u00a0 2019, only about 25% of Windows 10 users had been updated to Windows 10 version 1809.<\/span><\/p>\n

Version 1903:<\/strong> Windows 10 version 1903 is expected to be released in April or May of 2019, , but as of today,, no official release date has been announced.<\/span><\/p>\n

Those who have not been updated to Windows 10 version 1809 yet need not worry. Version 1809 is not a prerequisite for Windows 10 version 1903.<\/span><\/p>\n
