Search Faster Searching by File Type in Windows 10<\/span><\/h1>\n

In Windows 10, you can find things faster by searching for files by file type. For instance, in this case, I\u00a0 am looking for a PDF file. So, I\u00a0 opened Start (you can also use taskbar search) and typed infiles:pdf<\/code>and Windows returned a list of PDF files on my computer:<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

See? I have a pretty long list. Note the scroll bar on the right.<\/span><\/p>\n

If you\u2019re looking for a list of all the PNG files on your computer, type: \u201cPhotos:PNG\u201d (no quotes, of course). Or if you have a troop of music files, type Music:MP3\u00a0 (for example)and you\u2019ll get a list of MP3 music files on your computer. You get the idea.<\/span><\/p>\n

You can do the same thing for Apps, Settings, Folders and more. Just follow the same syntax of \u201cfile-type:specifier\u201d.<\/span><\/p>\n

The only easier way to find what you\u2019re looking for is just to ask EB! That\u2019s what I do. \u201cHey! EB! Where\u2019s my paycheck?\u201d<\/em><\/span><\/p>\n
