If you are having problems you  \t\tshouldn\u2019t clear  old restore points because you may have to go back to an  \t\tearlier  restore point. Restore points take up a lot of disk space, so if you\u2019re  computer is running well, there\u2019s not much sense in keeping a dozen  restore points. One or two recent restore points should be enough. \u00a0If  you\u2019re computer isn\u2019t running well, and hasn\u2019t been running well, don\u2019t  remove any old restore points.<\/p>\n<p>This tip is for Windows XP, Windows Vista, and Windows 7 (32 and 64bit).<\/p>\n<p>Here\u2019s how to remove old system restore  \t\tpoints using Windows XP Disk Cleanup:<\/p>\n<p>&#8211; Click Start then Run and type Cleanmgr then press enter<br \/>\n&#8211; Select the drive where Windows is installed (normally C: )and press  \t\tOK<br \/>\n&#8211; Click on the More Options tab (see image under Vista instructions  \t\t(below). Windows XP\u2019s dialog is very similar.<br \/>\n&#8211; Click on Cleanup under System Restore<\/p>\n<p>Here\u2019s how to remove old system restore  \t\tpoints in Windows Vista and Windows 7:<\/p>\n<p>&#8211; Click Start<br \/>\n&#8211; Type clean in the Start Search box.<br \/>\n&#8211; Click Disk Cleanup from the search results list.<br \/>\n&#8211; Select Files from All Users on this computer option.<br \/>\n&#8211; Click OK on Disk Space Cleanup Manager for Windows User Access Control  \t\tpermission request dialog.<br \/>\n&#8211; Choose a drive letter from the drop down list, and press OK.<br \/>\n&#8211; Disk Cleanup will perform calculation to determine how much space it  \t\tcan free.
