In Windows 7 type CMD in the start menu search, right-click on it when it appears at the top and then choose \u201cRun as administrator\u201d.\u00a0 In Windows 8.1 press Windows Key + S, type CMD in the search and right-click on it when it appears in the results, then click \u201cRun as administrator\u201d.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-family: helvetica, arial, sans-serif; font-size: 14pt;\">At the prompt, type:<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span class=\"auto-style3\" style=\"font-family: helvetica, arial, sans-serif; font-size: 14pt;\">tasklist<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-family: helvetica, arial, sans-serif; font-size: 14pt;\">and press Enter:<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-family: helvetica, arial, sans-serif; font-size: 14pt;\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-full\" src=\"http:\/\/thundercloud.net\/infoave\/images\/2019\/cmd-tasklist.png\" alt=\"Cloudeight Windows Tips and Tricks\" width=\"527\" height=\"477\" \/><\/span><br \/>\n<span style=\"font-family: helvetica, arial, sans-serif; font-size: 14pt;\">As you can see (above) you\u2019ll get a list of all processes running on your computer. You can scroll through the list and see every process that is running on your computer at the time you ran the command.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-family: helvetica, arial, sans-serif; font-size: 14pt;\">If you want to print a list of processes, it gets a little more complicated.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-family: helvetica, arial, sans-serif; font-size: 14pt;\">At the prompt type:<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span class=\"auto-style3\" style=\"font-family: helvetica, arial, sans-serif; font-size: 14pt;\">Tasklist &gt; C:\\ <\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-family: helvetica, arial, sans-serif; font-size: 14pt;\">and the directory in which you want the file to be saved. In the example below, I\u2019m saving the list with the name \u201crunning-processes\u201d in my documents folder so the command line shows:<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span class=\"auto-style3\" style=\"font-family: helvetica, arial, sans-serif; font-size: 14pt;\">tasklist &gt;C:\\users\\thunder\\documents\\running-processes.txt<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-family: helvetica, arial, sans-serif; font-size: 14pt;\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"http:\/\/thundercloud.net\/infoave\/images\/2019\/cmd-tasklist-file1.png\" alt=\"Cloudeight Windows Tips and Tricks\" \/><\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-family: helvetica, arial, sans-serif; font-size: 14pt;\">You can save the file to any drive or folder you want to\u2026 but remember, spacing is important and you must know the complete file path.
