Two weeks ago we began our Summer 2019 Donation Drive. Your response has been amazing and more than we could have hoped for \u2013 you came through for us again. Without your support things would be much more difficult for us. We want to tell you all that is an amazing and wonderful feeling to know we have friends like you.<\/span><\/p>\n We started our small business over 2 decades ago. This year is our 21st anniversary. It\u2019s hard to believe that we\u2019ve been on the Web such a long time. In terms of technology, 21 years is a very, very long time.<\/span><\/p>\n When we started, we were just one of tens of thousands of \u201cmom & pop\u201d sites that were popping up all over the Web. In fact, back in those days, the Web was mostly mom & pops sites like Cloudeight. Why? Because there was no real money to be made on the Internet – the Web was more of a curiosity than the necessity it has become. <\/span><\/p>\n And, sadly, over the years, we have watched many of those mom and pops sites die as the web became all about the money. The folks that owned these sites and poured their hearts and souls and love into them, abandoned their dreams and walked away. The trail of tears those folks left behind is do long it would circle the globe many times.<\/span><\/p>\n We know all this because we have been around so long and we’ve watched it happen. We have seen the Internet go from a place where people freely shared ideas and software and that was used only by a few of us “nerdy types”, to the Internet we know today. The Internet is now an economic dynamo and has become so important that the world, its governments, and its financial institutions could not run without it.<\/span><\/p>\n We have watched as big money and big corporations smothered or gobbled up everything on the Web, until today, big money and big business control almost all of it. Small, mom & pops sites like Cloudeight are a very rare and very endangered species.<\/span><\/p>\n But we have promised you that we will never go quietly or gently into that good night.<\/span><\/p>\n We have fought the good fight. We pull no punches and tell you the truth as we see it. We\u2019ve butted heads with multi-million-dollar sites that made their fortunes by tricking unsuspecting users into buying their worthless products.<\/span><\/p>\n We have exposed dozens of Tech Support and TV scams. We’ve tried to protect you from those who try to induce you into buying snake oil by using slick, professionally produced TV commercials designed to sell you all-in-one PC Fixer snake-oil software. We tried to keep you safe from tech support scams that use counterfeit Microsoft warning popups and other slick pop-ups to convince you to click links or call toll-free telephone numbers and try to steal your money or identity – or both.<\/span><\/p>\n We fight for the truth, we fight for you and we fight every day to provide you with the best computer care & repair service you\u2019ll find anywhere.<\/span><\/p>\n We have turned down tens of thousands of dollars in commissions because we refuse to recommend or sell anything we don\u2019t believe in and wouldn\u2019t use on our own computers.<\/span><\/p>\n Just recently, we turned down an offer that would have paid us $70 per sale. This would have ensnared our subscribers and our friends into the world of scamware subscriptions. We never gave it a second thought. We would never sell out you – our friends – for $7 or $70 or $700 or $7000. We have seen many other tech sites that don’t mind recommending this kind of scamware though. They\u2019re probably rolling in the money now, but you know, at least we can sleep at night.<\/span><\/p>\n It seems every week, some company or another writes and wants to make a deal with us to recommend their products. We could be recommending something new to you every week, but we refuse to sell you out. We refuse to sell something we would not use ourselves, no matter how much we need the money.<\/span><\/p>\n You\u2019ll notice that the number of products we recommend and endorse is rather sparse. Emsisoft and Reg Organizer are both top-notch products with superior support \u2013 we recommend them both and we use both on our personal and business computer.<\/span><\/p>\n We truly believe our Cloudeight Direct Computer Care<\/a><\/span> service is the best remote computer care & repair service anywhere. We offer personal support and excellent prices. Our Cloudeight Direct Computer Care services provide us with some income. In 2018, we introduced SeniorPass<\/span><\/a> to make our computer care service even more affordable for our senior citizen friends.<\/span><\/p>\n If we could afford it, we’d provide free computer care and repair to everyone.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n We provide free email support to as many people as we can. We help hundreds of people every month who write to us for answers to their computer questions and problems. We do this willingly – we really do love helping you with your problems.<\/span><\/p>\n We will always give you our best. We will only recommend to you the best products and services. We will never sell you out because we need the money… we’d close up shop and go out of business before we’d betray your trust.<\/span><\/p>\n Our donation drives help us help you and keep us up and running during times when sales are slow. And we have been truly amazed by the response you\u2019ve given us during our Summer Donation Drive 2018.<\/span><\/p>\n How can we thank those of you who dug into your own pockets to lend us a helping hand? There is no thank you big enough, nor any words heartfelt enough to tell you how much we appreciate you and the help you give us.<\/span><\/p>\n I guess the best way to thank you then, isn\u2019t with mere words, but to promise you that we will keep fighting for you and keep trying to keep you safe\u2026 not by scaring you, but by informing you.
