We all know, or should, that after a time our hard drives, files, and folders get fragmented. Fragmented drives can cause your computer to seem sluggish and slow to respond. Microsoft includes a defragmentation tool in all versions of Windows. However, it’s not very good and it’s not very easy to use. To make it worse, it’s not very fast. And if you want to get to the point, many users forget the Windows Defragmenter is even there and never use it. How sad.<\/p>\n
Fragmented drives are drives where files are scattered all over the drive and not in any particular order. When you go to use a program, Windows has to take extra nanoseconds to search all over the drive to find what it’s looking for. This causes hesitations and slowdowns. We call it that sluggish feeling. We don’t like it – you probably don’t either.<\/p>\n
What’s a fragmented soul to do?<\/p>\n
Free defragmentation programs are as rare as honest politicians (don’t slap me!). It’s true. And it’s a miracle that week after week after week we are able to mine such gems as this from the increasingly mucky web. But we do. Don’t ask me how. We dredged this beauty up from the depths of obscurity somehow.<\/p>\n
Now before we prattle on and on incessantly, let’s get one thing clear. This is a beta release. It worked perfectly on both Windows Vista and Windows XP. But these were our Windows XP and Windows Vista computers – not yours. We can only assume that it also worked on the developer’s Vista and XP computer’s too. That’s at least 4 computers that it worked on. So, there’s a good chance, but no guarantee, that it will work well on your machine too. If you have Windows 98 or Windows ME don’t even try this program, those old operating systems are not even listed on the developer’s site.<\/p>\n
Defraggler is the fastest, coolest looking, defragmenter we’ve ever seen. If nothing else, it’s pretty to look at – better yet, it appears to work even better than advertised. And, it has many features we’ve never seen in any defragmenter – even those costing $60 or more. What a deal! This is free – so far. If you grab it now while it’s still free, before the developer goes and sticks toolbars for Yahoo in it and all sorts of incentivizing stuff it in – or just as bad, starts charging for it, well, you can’t say we didn’t warn you.
