This tip was inspired by a question from InfoAve reader Cindy H. who asked “How do you get just icons on the bookmarks bar? I’m using Chrome.”<\/span><\/p>\n We thought this was a great question and one many Chrome users would use because it can save a lot of space on the Chrome bookmarks bar. <\/span><\/p>\n This tip will work any bookmark in your bookmarks bar that already displays an icon.<\/span><\/p>\n 1. Right-click on the shortcut you want to make an icon only & click “Edit” from the right-click dropdown menu<\/strong>.<\/span><\/p>\n 2. Highlight the name and delete it. Then click Save.<\/span><\/strong><\/p>\n 3. I’ve done several of my bookmarks this way to show you what it looks like.<\/span><\/strong><\/p>\n They are (in the screenshot above) from the left:\u00a0 “Clear Chrome Data settings”, my main banking site, my secondary bank, and the Cloudeight InfoAve site, and our Emsisoft portal. \nThe Apps icon\/name, as shown in the screenshot above at the far left edge, cannot be edited. But as you can see, I’ve changed five of my bookmarks to icons only. <\/span><\/p>\n
