It\u2019s a worldwide standard that specifies formats for files recorded by digital cameras. However, none of this information is added by the user when the photo is taken, it\u2019s automatically added by the device or digital camera you used to take the picture. But when you or someone you share the picture with opens it all you see is the photo.\u00a0 But there\u2019s a lot of invisible info hiding inside of most digital photos.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span class=\"auto-style4\" style=\"font-family: helvetica, arial, sans-serif; font-size: 14pt;\">Windows 10 makes it easy for you to remove all or most of this data from the picture with just a couple of clicks. It\u2019s easy to do, and we&#8217;ll walk you though the process step by step.\u00a0 It&#8217;s very easy.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-family: helvetica, arial, sans-serif; font-size: 14pt;\"><strong>Let&#8217;s remove the metadata from a photo on your Windows 10 computer.<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n<p><span class=\"auto-style4\" style=\"font-family: helvetica, arial, sans-serif; font-size: 14pt;\">Find a photo on your PC that you took with your digital device (camera, phone, tablet) and right-click it.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-family: helvetica, arial, sans-serif; font-size: 14pt;\"><img decoding=\"async\" class=\"auto-style4\" src=\"http:\/\/thundercloud.net\/infoave\/images\/2020\/pic-details.png\" alt=\"Cloudeight Internet\" \/><\/span><\/p>\n<p><span class=\"auto-style4\" style=\"font-family: helvetica, arial, sans-serif; font-size: 14pt;\">Click on Properties and then click the Details tab.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-family: helvetica, arial, sans-serif; font-size: 14pt;\"><img decoding=\"async\" class=\"auto-style4\" src=\"http:\/\/thundercloud.net\/infoave\/images\/2020\/pic-details1.png\" alt=\"Cloudeight Internet\" \/><\/span><\/p>\n<p><span class=\"auto-style4\" style=\"font-family: helvetica, arial, sans-serif; font-size: 14pt;\">The devil\u2019s in the details. You can see a lot of information is stored about the picture you took when you look at the details (see the screenshots above and below).<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-family: helvetica, arial, sans-serif; font-size: 14pt;\"><img decoding=\"async\" class=\"auto-style4\" src=\"http:\/\/thundercloud.net\/infoave\/images\/2020\/pic-details2.png\" alt=\"Cloudeight Internet\" \/><\/span><\/p>\n<p><span class=\"auto-style4\" style=\"font-family: helvetica, arial, sans-serif; font-size: 14pt;\">If you want to remove some or all of that information, near the bottom of the Properties &gt; Details dialog, you\u2019ll see a link that says \u201cRemove Properties and Personal Information\u201d. <\/span><\/p>\n<p><span class=\"auto-style4\" style=\"font-family: helvetica, arial, sans-serif; font-size: 14pt;\">Go ahead and click that now.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-family: helvetica, arial, sans-serif; font-size: 14pt;\"><img decoding=\"async\" class=\"auto-style4\" src=\"http:\/\/thundercloud.net\/infoave\/images\/2020\/pic-details3.png\" alt=\"Cloudeight Internet\" \/><\/span><br \/>\n<span style=\"font-family: helvetica, arial, sans-serif; font-size: 14pt;\"><span class=\"auto-style4\">See the screenshot below. You see that you have a choice of creating a copy of the photo with all possible properties removed. This is a good choice if you want to keep the original and share the copy that will be created if you choose this option.\u00a0<\/span><span class=\"auto-style4\">Or, if you choose, you can remove all (or most) of the metadata from the original photo.
