The Seven Candles Of Christmas<\/span><\/strong><\/span><\/p>\nChristmas is the time that Christians celebrate the birth of Jesus. It is also the time we remember His gifts of Life, Truth, and Love. Christmas is also a time to take time to give thanks for the many gifts we have received not only at Christmas but throughout our lives.<\/span><\/p>\n For those of us with children; remember always what special gifts they are.<\/span><\/p>\n Those of us in good health; those who are fortunate enough to live in nice homes; should give thanks for these gifts and never forget those who have not been so fortunate.<\/span><\/p>\n One of my favorite sayings has always been: “There, but for the Grace of God, go I”.<\/span><\/p>\n Christmas is a time to remember all the gifts that we have been blessed with and to remember those less fortunate – the ones whose gifts have not been as plentiful as ours.<\/span><\/p>\n Even as we celebrate Christmas with our families and our friends, there are young men and women in far off lands defending our right to celebrate (or not celebrate) Christmas. Remember them at Christmas. Remember them always.<\/span><\/p>\n Somewhere, there is a mother who cannot find food for her children. Somewhere there is a father who has lost his job and cannot provide even the basic necessities for his family. Remember them at Christmastime and never forget them. Let their struggles remind you of your blessings and gifts with which you have been blessed.<\/span><\/p>\n Somewhere a family huddles together trying to find warmth on a cold, winter night. Somewhere a sick child is crying. Somewhere there are people who don’t know who Jesus is or what Christmas is. Pray for them at Christmas and remember them always.<\/span><\/p>\n Christmas is a time to reflect and give thanks for our many blessings: our children, our talents, our love, our families, our friends, our homes, our health – all the thing with which we are blessed and which we take for granted every day and rarely give a second thought. <\/span><\/p>\n Please remember those who are not so fortunate.<\/span><\/p>\n At Christmastime,\u00a0 take the time to remember the gifts that we have received: All the gifts which we have been blessed with are gifts for all seasons.<\/span><\/p>\n Christmas is a time to forgive those with whom we’ve been angry. Christmas is a time to forgive those with whom we disagree. Christmas is a time to forgive our enemies and to bring our friends nearer.<\/span><\/p>\n Christmas comes near the end of the year and so it is a good time to let go of the things which trouble us and to begin anew. Christmas is a good time to strive to be a better person. It is a good time to remember, reflect, and practice the lessons that the Man whose Birthday we celebrate on Christmas Day taught us: <\/span><\/p>\n Forgiveness, Charity, Forbearance, Kindness, Generosity – and most of all Love.<\/span><\/p>\n The Seven Candles of Christmas<\/span><\/strong><\/p>\n This Christmas let us light seven candles in remembrance of the true meaning of Christmas:<\/span><\/p>\n Light the first candle for the Man whose birth we celebrate on Christmas Day. May that the glow from that candle light the entire world.<\/span><\/p>\n Light the second in honor of the gift of His love. May the glow from this candle touch every heart – those who believe and those who do not.<\/span><\/p>\n Light the third candle in honor of your children and your family for they are your greatest gifts.<\/span><\/p>\n Light the fourth candle for the young men and women in the armed forces who sacrifice so much so that we may have the right to celebrate Christmas – or not – in accordance with our own beliefs.<\/span><\/p>\n Light the fifth candle for your friends. For they too can be counted among your greatest treasures.<\/span><\/p>\n Light the sixth for those less fortunate than you: For the mother who has no food to give her child; for the father who has no job; for the children who go hungry. May the light from this candle guide our conscience.<\/span><\/p>\n Light the seventh candle for those who are suffering. For those who are ill, forgotten, lonely; for those who are homeless and are huddled on cold, dark winter nights in the unseen corners of cities all over the world. In remembrance of them let us this candle. And, may the fire from this candle burn always lest we forget them when Christmastime has passed.<\/span><\/p>\n May The Blessings of Christmas Be With You Always!<\/span><\/p>\n Celebrate Christmas with love, joy and the innocence of a child. Share your Christmas spirit with all of those you love.
