But it is a simple way to run a secondary check to find out if anything is going on that shouldn\u2019t be.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-size: 14pt; font-family: helvetica, arial, sans-serif;\">It&#8217;s built into Chrome and it\u2019s simple to use. If you use Chrome and you&#8217;d like to try iChrome&#8217;s malware scanner here&#8217;s some information as a short tutorial.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-size: 14pt; font-family: helvetica, arial, sans-serif;\"><em>The Chrome malware scanner will help you if:<\/em><\/span><\/p>\n<ol>\n<li><span style=\"font-size: 14pt; font-family: helvetica, arial, sans-serif;\">You keep getting popups that your computer is infected or you need to call some 800 number to fix your computer<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"font-size: 14pt; font-family: helvetica, arial, sans-serif;\">You get other pop-up ads that you can\u2019t seem to get rid of.<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"font-size: 14pt; font-family: helvetica, arial, sans-serif;\">Your home page gets changed without your permission.<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"font-size: 14pt; font-family: helvetica, arial, sans-serif;\">You open your browser and it opens to an unfamiliar page.<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"font-size: 14pt; font-family: helvetica, arial, sans-serif;\">Your Chrome default search engine keeps changing without your knowledge or permission.<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"font-size: 14pt; font-family: helvetica, arial, sans-serif;\">You click a link to go to a page but you\u2019re redirected to a different page.<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<p><span style=\"font-size: 14pt; font-family: helvetica, arial, sans-serif;\">After the Chrome Malware Scanner finishes, Chrome will let you know if anything was found and you\u2019ll have the option to remove it. To the far right of \u201cClean up computer\u201d click the arrow.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-size: 14pt; font-family: helvetica, arial, sans-serif;\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/thundercloud.net\/infoave\/images\/2020\/chrome-cleanup1.png\" alt=\"Cloudeight Internet - Chrome Malware Scanner\" \/><\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-size: 14pt; font-family: helvetica, arial, sans-serif;\">You can choose whether to share the anonymous results of the scan with Google\u2026 the switch is on by default. But you can switch it off by moving it to the left. Then just click \u201cFIND\u201d to start the Chrome malware scanner.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-size: 14pt; font-family: helvetica, arial, sans-serif;\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/thundercloud.net\/infoave\/images\/2020\/chrome-cleanup2.png\" alt=\"Cloudeight Internet - Chrome Malware Scanner\" \/><\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-size: 14pt; font-family: helvetica, arial, sans-serif;\">Chrome\u2019s malware scanner will scan your computer for malware. You will also have the option to reset Chrome which saves your bookmarks. And it disables but does not remove, your extensions, clears your Chrome history and cache, and resets Chrome to its defaults.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-family: helvetica, arial, sans-serif; font-size: 14pt;\"><strong>Important:<\/strong> You should not rely on Chrome&#8217;s scanner to protect your computer. It should only be used as a secondary way to check your system for malware and hijackers. Having professional-grade security software installed is your first line of defense. We recommend Emsisoft.
