Latest Windows 10\u2019s Cumulative Updates are Causing Big Problems with Some Printers<\/span><\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n NOTE: The updates referred to in this article are cumulative updates, not the May 2020 Update (version 2004) update.<\/span><\/em><\/p>\n Last Tuesday, Windows 10 users’ received monthly security patches. But it seems that the recently issued cumulative updates are causing big problems with printers.<\/span><\/p>\n The \u2018Patch Tuesday\u2019 updates released earlier last week that are causing serious problems with printers are KB4557957 and KB4560960 which were released to Windows 10 users who are running Windows 10 May 2020 update (version 2004) or the November 2019 (version 1909) which are for the May 2020 Update and the November 2019 Update<\/span><\/p>\n These cumulative updates are proving troublesome for some printers according to reports on Reddit, and various other online forums including Microsoft\u2019s own Answers.com support site. The problems are occurring across a wide variety of printer brands including Brother, Canon, HP, Panasonic, Ricoh, Toshiba, and others.<\/span><\/p>\n According to a Microsoft “VIP”<\/a><\/span>, uninstalling the KB4557957 and KB4560960 updates fixes the printer problem, but also removes the security patches included in them.<\/span><\/p>\n Uninstalling the updates does not prevent the same updates from reinstalling.
