You can reset Chrome this way:<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-size: 14pt; font-family: helvetica, arial, sans-serif;\">Go Chrome Settings and scroll down to the bottom and click &#8221; Show advanced settings&#8221;. Then scroll down to the bottom of Advanced Settings until you see &#8220;Reset and clean up&#8221;:<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-size: 14pt; font-family: helvetica, arial, sans-serif;\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"http:\/\/thundercloud.net\/infoave\/images\/2018\/resetting-chrome.png\" alt=\"Cloudeight InfoAve\" \/><\/span><br \/>\n<span style=\"font-size: 14pt; font-family: helvetica, arial, sans-serif;\">Click on the arrow to the far right (see above). The Reset dialog pops up(see below).<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-size: 14pt; font-family: helvetica, arial, sans-serif;\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"http:\/\/thundercloud.net\/infoave\/images\/2018\/resetting-chrome1.png\" alt=\"Cloudeight InfoAve\" \/><\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-size: 14pt; font-family: helvetica, arial, sans-serif;\">Click the Reset button. Wait while Chrome resets. Sometimes it can take a long time &#8211; be patient. When it&#8217;s done,\u00a0 close Chrome and re-open it. All your extensions will be disabled. You can re-enable the ones you need &#8211; but be careful. It&#8217;s quite likely that your Chrome problems were caused by a wayward extension. You will not lose your bookmarks or your saved passwords &#8211; but you will need to reset your browser&#8217;s start page.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><strong><span style=\"font-size: 14pt; font-family: helvetica, arial, sans-serif;\">If resetting Chrome does not solve your problems, keep on reading!<\/span><\/strong><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-size: 14pt; font-family: helvetica, arial, sans-serif;\">If your problem is caused by corrupted Chrome installation, the above won&#8217;t help. But don&#8217;t worry, there is more than one way to fix a flaky Chrome installation. <\/span><\/p>\n<p><strong><span style=\"font-size: 14pt; font-family: helvetica, arial, sans-serif;\">Another Way to Fix Chrome Problems<\/span><\/strong><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-size: 14pt; font-family: helvetica, arial, sans-serif;\">Here&#8217;s another way, and while it&#8217;s more complex than resetting Chrome &#8211; this way is almost guaranteed to fix most any problem you&#8217;re having with Chrome.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><strong><span style=\"font-size: 14pt; font-family: helvetica, arial, sans-serif;\">Caution using this method will cause you to lose your bookmarks! <\/span><\/strong><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-size: 14pt; font-family: helvetica, arial, sans-serif;\">Before you proceed, you should know this procedure will wipe out your Chrome bookmarks.\u00a0 If you don&#8217;t want to lose them, the easiest way to keep them is to import your bookmarks from Chrome into Microsoft Edge, Firefox, IE, or your favorite browser. After you&#8217;ve exported your bookmarks from Chrome to another browser you can safely continue with this project.<\/span><span style=\"font-size: 14pt; font-family: helvetica, arial, sans-serif;\">\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-size: 14pt; font-family: helvetica, arial, sans-serif;\">(Note: You can also export your Chrome bookmarks to an HTML file (web page). <a href=\"https:\/\/www.thundercloud.net\/infoave\/new\/how-to-save-your-google-chrome-bookmarks-3\/\">See this page to learn how<\/a>.)<\/span><span style=\"font-size: 14pt; font-family: helvetica, arial, sans-serif;\">\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-size: 14pt; font-family: helvetica, arial, sans-serif;\">We recommend you use a good uninstaller like Geek Uninstaller, HiBit Uninstaller, Reg Organizer&#8217;s uninstaller, or Revo Uninstaller to uninstall Chrome. If you don&#8217;t any of those, you can download the free version of <a href=\"http:\/\/www.snapfiles.com\/downloads\/geekuninstaller\/dlgeekuninstaller.html\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Geek Uninstaller<\/a> <span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\"><a href=\"http:\/\/www.snapfiles.com\/downloads\/geekuninstaller\/dlgeekuninstaller.html\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">here<\/a>.<\/span> Use Geek, Revo, or another trustworthy uninstaller to completely uninstall Chrome.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><strong><span style=\"font-family: helvetica, arial, sans-serif; font-size: 14pt;\">After you remove Chrome you have more to do&#8230;<\/span><\/strong><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-size: 14pt; font-family: helvetica, arial, sans-serif;\">Press the Windows Key + E to open File Explorer, click on &#8220;View&#8221; then click on Options &gt; &#8220;Change folder &amp; search options&#8221; and you&#8217;ll see a dialog that looks like this.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-size: 14pt; font-family: helvetica, arial, sans-serif;\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"auto-style84\" src=\"http:\/\/thundercloud.net\/infoave\/images\/2015\/foptions.png\" alt=\"Cloudeight InfoAve\" width=\"396\" height=\"481\" \/><\/span><br \/>\n<span style=\"font-size: 14pt; font-family: helvetica, arial, sans-serif;\">Make sure that <strong>&#8220;Show hidden files, folders, and drives&#8221; <\/strong>is selected.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-size: 14pt; font-family: helvetica, arial, sans-serif;\">Now press the Windows Key + E to open Windows Explorer (File Explorer) and navigate to C: \\ Users \\ **Your User Name** \\ AppData \\ Local\u00a0 &#8230;<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-size: 14pt; font-family: helvetica, arial, sans-serif;\">Once you&#8217;re there &#8211; look for a folder called Google<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-size: 14pt; font-family: helvetica, arial, sans-serif;\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"auto-style84\" src=\"http:\/\/thundercloud.net\/infoave\/images\/2015\/appdatagoogle.png\" alt=\"Cloudeight InfoAve\" width=\"480\" height=\"620\" \/><\/span><br \/>\n<span style=\"font-size: 14pt; font-family: helvetica, arial, sans-serif;\">See the folder &#8221; Google &#8216; in Users\/**your user name**\/AppData\/ Local above? Good.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-size: 14pt; font-family: helvetica, arial, sans-serif;\">Now right-click on the Google folder and choose &#8220;Delete&#8221;\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-size: 14pt; font-family: helvetica, arial, sans-serif;\">Next&#8230; look in C:\\Users\\**Your user name**\\AppData\\Roaming and look for a folder named Google. If you see it, you&#8217;ll need to right-click on it and delete it too.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-size: 14pt; font-family: helvetica, arial, sans-serif;\">And after you&#8217;re done checking for and removing the Chrome folder from both of those locations, you&#8217;ll need to restart your computer. <strong>Do not skip this step. You must restart your computer before reinstalling Chrome.<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-size: 14pt; font-family: helvetica, arial, sans-serif;\">After you&#8217;ve restarted your computer, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.google.com\/chrome\/browser\/desktop\/index.html?system=true&amp;standalone=1\"><strong>click here to download and install Google Chrome.<\/strong><\/a><\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-size: 14pt; font-family: helvetica, arial, sans-serif;\">After Chrome has been installed on your computer it will open automatically. Click on the Settings icon (3 vertical dots) in the top right corner:<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-size: 14pt; font-family: helvetica, arial, sans-serif;\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignleft size-full wp-image-13098\" src=\"https:\/\/www.thundercloud.net\/infoave\/new\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/02\/chromesettings.png\" alt=\"\" width=\"411\" height=\"98\" srcset=\"https:\/\/www.thundercloud.net\/infoave\/new\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/02\/chromesettings.png 411w, https:\/\/www.thundercloud.net\/infoave\/new\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/02\/chromesettings-300x72.png 300w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 411px) 100vw, 411px\" \/><\/span><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-size: 14pt; font-family: helvetica, arial, sans-serif;\">And choose Bookmarks&#8230;<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-size: 14pt; font-family: helvetica, arial, sans-serif;\">Then choose &#8220;Import bookmarks and settings&#8230;&#8221;<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-size: 14pt; font-family: helvetica, arial, sans-serif;\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"auto-style84\" src=\"http:\/\/thundercloud.net\/infoave\/images\/2015\/importbookmarks.png\" alt=\"Cloudeight InfoAve\" width=\"400\" height=\"145\" \/><\/span><br \/>\n<span style=\"font-size: 14pt; font-family: helvetica, arial, sans-serif;\">Now you can import them:<\/span><\/p>\n<ol>\n<li><span style=\"font-size: 14pt; font-family: helvetica, arial, sans-serif;\">If you exported them to another browser, import them from the browser to which you exported them.<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"font-size: 14pt; font-family: helvetica, arial, sans-serif;\">If you exported them to an HTML file, import them from the HTML file.<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<p><span style=\"font-size: 14pt; font-family: helvetica, arial, sans-serif;\">Once this is done, you will have to reinstall any extensions you want or need.
