On July 31, 2020, Microsoft released cumulative update KB4568831\u00a0<\/a> which fixed a large number of known problems with Windows 10 version 2004 (May 2020 Update). As of today, there are only 4 remaining known issues…<\/a><\/span><\/p>\n

Those are:<\/span><\/p>\n

Issues updating or starting up devices when aksfridge.sys or aksdf.sys is present<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n

Devices with apps or drivers using certain versions of aksfridge.sys or aksdf.sys might have issues updating or starting. aksfridge.sys file is a software component of Aladdin HASP by Aladdin Knowledge Systems, a digital rights management (DRM) suite of protection and licensing software utilised by over 30,000 software publishers. Dragging with the mouse in some apps might cause issues for some IME users<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n

Errors or issues during or after updating devices with Conexant ISST audio drivers<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n

The Windows 10, version 2004 (May 2020 Update) is currently available for those running Windows 10, versions 1903 and 1909 by clicking \u201cCheck for updates\u201d in Settings > Updates & Security > Windows Update. <\/span><\/p>\n

Or by clicking on Download & Install if the Feature update message is displayed under Windows Update.<\/span><\/p>\n

Microsoft is now using “artificial intelligence” to automatically update devices running Windows 10 versions 1809 and 1903 to Windows 10, version 2004. Versions 1809 and 1903 are nearing their end-of-service dates. Windows 10 version 1809 goes out of service on November 20, 2020, and version 1903 goes out of service on December 8, 2020.<\/span><\/p>\n

Microsoft has fixed most of the glaring issues with Windows 10 version 2004. Those of you who have been waiting for Microsoft to fix this version of Windows can now consider upgrading.
