Those that are skimming this newsletter are \t\tgoing to be really sorry they skimmed if they skipped over our \t\tSite Of The Week<\/a> this week. It’s \t\tcompletely useless but fun – and very intriguing in its own way. <\/span><\/p>\n

Wordle generates “word clouds” – which, I \t\tthink, is cool-speak for a bunch of words randomly aligned in a pattern \t\twith the most frequently used words appearing in different sized text \t\tbased on their frequency. And, yes! yes! I know – it makes no sense and \t\tit’s an utter waste of time but so is viewing campaign ads or voting for \t\tyour favorite crooked politician. Ahem…<\/p>\n

Anywhale, I took a paragraph from one of my \t\town personal favorite rants “Pittsburgh” (I love the comments people \t\tsent in!) and pasted it in the gizmo on Wordle and here’s one of the \t\t“word clouds” I got:<\/p>\n

That, my friends is a word cloud created by \t\tpasting one paragraph from the infamous \t\t“Pittsburgh” \t\trant<\/a>. Now, you know. And now, you can amaze your friends by pasting \t\t(or typing) any blob of text you want into the gizmo at Wordle and make \t\tyour own word cloud. If you don’t like your first result, click \t\t“Randomize” and you’ll get a new word cloud based on the text you \t\tentered.<\/p>\n

Since this site is a waste-of-time but fun \t\t– and most of your friends have never heard of word clouds – you’ll \t\tprobably spend hours here wasting time and sending worthless, but cute, \t\tword clouds to your friends. I’m sure they’ll be as amazed as you are \t\tright now, just itching to go make their own. Are we promoting something \t\tthat will waste your time? Of course! We all need a break from our busy \t\tlives – besides you gotta love coolspeak!<\/p>\n
