But it doesn&#8217;t seem like Microsoft is any closer to that reasonable goal today than they were five years ago when Windows 10 was first released to consumers.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-size: 14pt; font-family: helvetica, arial, sans-serif;\">According to <a href=\"https:\/\/www.windowslatest.com\/2020\/09\/15\/windows-10-september-2020-update-issues\/\">Windows Latest<\/a>&#8230;<\/span><\/p>\n<blockquote><p><span style=\"font-size: 14pt; font-family: helvetica, arial, sans-serif;\">After the release of Windows 10\u2019s September 2020 update (<a href=\"https:\/\/www.windowslatest.com\/2020\/09\/08\/windows-10-kb4571756\/\">KB4571756<\/a>\u00a0and\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.windowslatest.com\/2020\/09\/08\/windows-10-kb4574727\/\">KB4574727<\/a>), users are reporting performance issues, Start Menu crashes, sign-in issues, temporary user profile bug, Blue Screen of Death, and a raft of other minor bugs. If any of this sounds familiar, you\u2019re not alone.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-size: 14pt; font-family: helvetica, arial, sans-serif;\">Like every month\u2019s Patch Tuesday release, it seems that not being able to install the updates is the problem most are encountering, with 0x8007371c and 0x800f081f being the most-reported error code.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-size: 14pt; font-family: helvetica, arial, sans-serif;\">&#8216;I was stuck on version 10.0.19041.388 from July because every single update after that I would get an error message saying some files were missing or corrupted and just now, I saw this error again. I have no idea why this is happening,\u201d one Reddit user <a href=\"https:\/\/www.reddit.com\/r\/Windows10\/comments\/ioxn7d\/cumulative_updates_september_8th_2020\/g4hltcq\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"nofollow noopener noreferrer\">wrote<\/a> and there are similar complaints on Feedback Hub.&#8217;<\/span><\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p><span style=\"text-decoration: underline; font-family: helvetica, arial, sans-serif;\"><span style=\"font-size: 14pt;\"><a href=\"https:\/\/www.windowslatest.com\/2020\/09\/15\/windows-10-september-2020-update-issues\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Read more here&#8230;<\/a><\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-size: 14pt; font-family: helvetica, arial, sans-serif;\"><strong>Remember&#8230; update problems affect only a small percentage of Windows 10 users, but&#8230;<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-size: 14pt; font-family: helvetica, arial, sans-serif;\">Keep in mind that nearly one billion people use Windows 10 and if just a small percentage of users have problems the number of users with problems can be in the tens of millions &#8211; that means that hundreds of millions are not having problems. We just wanted you to be aware of the problems that some folks are having with the September updates.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-size: 14pt; font-family: helvetica, arial, sans-serif;\">If you have problems with cumulative updates, the best way to &#8220;fix&#8221; the issues they cause it by uninstalling the update(s). <span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\"><a href=\"https:\/\/www.thundercloud.net\/infoave\/new\/how-to-uninstall-an-update-and-prevent-a-problematic-windows-update-from-reinstalling\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Here&#8217;s a tutorial<\/a><\/span> on uninstalling Windows 10 cumulative updates. Keep in mind this only applies to normal monthly updates and the so-called out-of-band updates, it does not apply to feature updates &#8211; or more precisely &#8220;version updates&#8221; for version update problems you can go back to the previous version of Windows 10 <span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\"><a href=\"https:\/\/www.thundercloud.net\/infoave\/new\/go-back-to-the-previous-version-of-windows-10\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">as we discuss here<\/a><\/span>.
