Well, lots of things come to mind: You can give it to a church or school, you can give it to a relative or a friend, you can sell it. <\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-family: helvetica, arial, sans-serif; font-size: 14pt;\">If you\u2019re going to be giving away or selling your Windows 10 computer, you\u2019ll be glad to know that you don\u2019t need to download any third-party software to wipe your personal information from your computer before you give it away or sell it. Now we\u2019re not saying that this would pass NSA, CIA, or FBI forensics scrutiny, but for most of us ordinary souls this method will work great.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-family: helvetica, arial, sans-serif; font-size: 14pt;\">Here\u2019s what you need to do:<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-family: helvetica, arial, sans-serif; font-size: 14pt;\">1. Right-click on the Windows 10 start button &amp; click Settings<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-family: helvetica, arial, sans-serif; font-size: 14pt;\">2. In Settings &gt; click on Update &amp; Security.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-family: helvetica, arial, sans-serif; font-size: 14pt;\">3. In Update &amp; Security &gt; click on Recovery<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-family: helvetica, arial, sans-serif; font-size: 14pt;\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"http:\/\/thundercloud.net\/infoave\/images\/2019\/reset3.png\" alt=\"Cloudeight InfoAve Premium\" \/><\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-family: helvetica, arial, sans-serif; font-size: 14pt;\">4. In Recovery under Reset this PC\u201d &gt; click on \u201cGet started\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-family: helvetica, arial, sans-serif; font-size: 14pt;\">5. When you click on \u201cGet started\u201d, you\u2019ll have two options:<\/span><br \/>\n<span style=\"font-family: helvetica, arial, sans-serif; font-size: 14pt;\">\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 a. Keep my files \u2013 Removes apps and settings, but keeps your personal files.<\/span><br \/>\n<span style=\"font-family: helvetica, arial, sans-serif; font-size: 14pt;\">\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 b. Remove everything \u2013 Removes all of your personal files, apps, and settings.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-family: helvetica, arial, sans-serif; font-size: 14pt;\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"http:\/\/thundercloud.net\/infoave\/images\/2019\/Reset4.png\" alt=\"Cloudeight InfoAve Premium\" width=\"520\" height=\"300\" \/><\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-family: helvetica, arial, sans-serif; font-size: 14pt;\">6.Click on Remove everything.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-family: helvetica, arial, sans-serif; font-size: 14pt;\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"http:\/\/thundercloud.net\/infoave\/images\/2019\/reset5.png\" alt=\"Cloudeight InfoAve Premium\" width=\"567\" height=\"329\" \/><\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-family: helvetica, arial, sans-serif; font-size: 14pt;\">7. Windows will ask if you want \u201cJust remove my files\u201d or \u201cRemove files and clean the drive\u201d. Since you\u2019re not keeping the computer, choose \u201cRemove files and clean the drive\u201d Selecting this option completely wipes the C:\\ drive and then reinstalls Windows 10. After you do this, when you give the computer away or sell it, it\u2019s like a computer that has never been used.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-family: helvetica, arial, sans-serif; font-size: 14pt;\">Once you click on \u201cRemove files and clean the drive\u201d Windows will warn you and ask you to confirm you want to proceed with this operation. After you confirm that you want to do this, Windows will start the process of wiping the drive and reinstalling Windows 10. This could take a few hours \u2013 but you don\u2019t have hang around while this is being done; it\u2019s automatic. When Windows has wiped the drive and reinstalled Windows 10 it will be like a new computer. Whoever you give it or sell it to, will set up time zone, language, user accounts, etc. \u2013 Just like they\u2019d do with a new computer<\/span><br \/>\n<span style=\"font-family: helvetica, arial, sans-serif; font-size: 14pt;\">. <\/span><br \/>\n<span style=\"font-family: helvetica, arial, sans-serif; font-size: 14pt;\">So. now you know what to do if you\u2019re planning to sell or give away a Windows 10 computer&#8230; and how easy it is to do it.<\/span><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>&nbsp; &nbsp; Preparing to Sell or Give Away a Windows 10 Computer It&#8217;s the time of year when people get new computers and don&#8217;t know what to do with their old ones.
