I was wondering if you know anything about this company or did my son get taken for almost $500. Any help would be appreciated. What happened to your son is a typical tech support scam. The first thing he needs to do is call his credit card company and tell them he was scammed and request a chargeback &#8211; this is a forced refund. The next thing he needs to do is do use System Restore to go back to a time before the scammers were on his computer. <\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-family: helvetica, arial, sans-serif; font-size: 14pt;\">It&#8217;s important to note that even if a company does offer paid support, $500 is an outrageous amount considering you can buy a nice new computer for less than that. <\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-family: helvetica, arial, sans-serif; font-size: 14pt;\">We&#8217;re sorry that this happened to him. Yandex is Russia\u2019s biggest &amp; most popular search engine and webmail provider. It\u2019s now expanded into the Web browsing business with Yandex Browser, built on Chromium the open-source version of Google Chrome.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-family: helvetica, arial, sans-serif; font-size: 14pt;\">It supposedly has extra protection against compromised websites, fake sites, and questionable downloads using Kaspersky (you guessed it \u2013 another Russian company).<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-family: helvetica, arial, sans-serif; font-size: 14pt;\">The problem we\u2019ve found with these types of browsers \u2013 and there have been many over the years \u2013 the protection leaves a lot to be desired.
