Shortcuts. <\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-family: helvetica, arial, sans-serif; font-size: 14pt;\">In today&#8217;s post, we&#8217;re going to remind you how handy Ctrl Key shortcuts can be &#8212; and why you should use them whenever you can. They will save you time. And what&#8217;s more basic than time? We either have too much of it or not enough it&#8230; and, not to be morbid, but we&#8217;re all going to run out of it. So, why not save as much time as you can? <\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-family: helvetica, arial, sans-serif; font-size: 14pt;\">And remember, these shortcuts can be used in any version of Windows including Windows 11.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-family: helvetica, arial, sans-serif; font-size: 14pt;\">OK ready? Let&#8217;s save some time with Ctrl Key shortcuts!<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-family: helvetica, arial, sans-serif; font-size: 14pt;\">Let\u2019s say you\u2019re reading a page on the Web and you\u2019re looking for a particular word. Do you:<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-family: helvetica, arial, sans-serif; font-size: 14pt;\">a.) Scan the page manually for the word?<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-family: helvetica, arial, sans-serif; font-size: 14pt;\">b.) Use the browser\u2019s search feature in the browser toolbar?<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-family: helvetica, arial, sans-serif; font-size: 14pt;\">c.) Press Ctrl + F to open the page search dialog?<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-family: helvetica, arial, sans-serif; font-size: 14pt;\">d.) None of the above.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-family: helvetica, arial, sans-serif; font-size: 14pt;\">The answer is C. If you\u2019re looking for a word on a page in your web browser, word processer, text editor, PDF viewer (and many other programs) just press Ctrl + F to open the \u201cFind\u201d dialog. Type in the word(s) you&#8217;re looking for and press Enter. That&#8217;s it! Just remember F stands for Find. Sure, you can use the program\u2019s search feature too, but why? The CTRL + F shortcut is faster and easier.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-family: helvetica, arial, sans-serif; font-size: 14pt;\">OK. If you\u2019re on a page you want to print, do you search for \u201cprint\u201d on the toolbar, or look for the printer icon, or just press Ctrl + P? Right! You press Ctrl + P to print the page. It\u2019s the fastest way to print.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-family: helvetica, arial, sans-serif; font-size: 14pt;\">OK now&#8230; you\u2019re using your browser and you want to open a new window? Do you just click the browser\u2019s shortcut to open a new browser window? Nah, just press Ctrl + N. Same thing if you\u2019re using an email program and you want to open a new email compose window. Ctrl + N and type your email.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-family: helvetica, arial, sans-serif; font-size: 14pt;\">If you\u2019re working on a document and you want to save it, you can press CTRL+S instead of clicking \u2018File\u2019 \u2018Save\u2019. If you want \u201cFile\u201d &gt; \u201cSave as\u201d you&#8217;ll find that Ctrl + S\/ works in many applications.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-family: helvetica, arial, sans-serif; font-size: 14pt;\">If you want to view your browser\u2019s history, with your browser open use the Ctrl key shortcut, Ctrl + H. <\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-family: helvetica, arial, sans-serif; font-size: 14pt;\">And if you want to view a list of things you&#8217;ve recently downloaded, with your browser open use the Ctrl + J.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-family: helvetica, arial, sans-serif; font-size: 14pt;\">Let\u2019s review:<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-family: helvetica, arial, sans-serif; font-size: 14pt;\">Ctrl + F = Find something on a page \u2013 in a browser, text editor, PDF editor, eBook, etc. To remember this easily, think F = FIND.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-family: helvetica, arial, sans-serif; font-size: 14pt;\">Ctrl + P = Print the document you have open. Whether it\u2019s a web page, a Word doc, PDF file, text file, etc. Think P = PRINT.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-family: helvetica, arial, sans-serif; font-size: 14pt;\">Ctrl + N = Opens a new window in the program that\u2019s running. Think N = NEW.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-family: helvetica, arial, sans-serif; font-size: 14pt;\">Ctrl + S = Saves the document you\u2019re working on. Think S = SAVE.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-family: helvetica, arial, sans-serif; font-size: 14pt;\">Ctrl + H = Shows your browser\u2019s history. Think H = History<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-family: helvetica, arial, sans-serif; font-size: 14pt;\">Ctrl + J = Shows a list of downloads in your browser. Think J= ? I give up! J=Downloads! Junk?<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-family: helvetica, arial, sans-serif; font-size: 14pt;\">And let us not fail to mention these Ctrl Key shortcuts:<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-family: helvetica, arial, sans-serif; font-size: 14pt;\">Ctrl + A = Select All<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-family: helvetica, arial, sans-serif; font-size: 14pt;\">Ctrl + C = Copy<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-family: helvetica, arial, sans-serif; font-size: 14pt;\">Ctrl + V = Paste<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-family: helvetica, arial, sans-serif; font-size: 14pt;\">Ctrl + X = Cut<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-family: helvetica, arial, sans-serif; font-size: 14pt;\">Ctrl + Y = Redo (Reverses a previous undo.)<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-family: helvetica, arial, sans-serif; font-size: 14pt;\">Ctrl + Z = Restores a deleted file instantly when used immediately after deleting a file.
