I know for sure, that I have dozens of programs installed on the old computer that I never use and certainly don&#8217;t need on my new computer. So, use your list of installed programs as a guide, not a blueprint. You will probably find that you never, or very seldom use, a lot of the programs you have installed.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-size: 14pt; font-family: helvetica, arial, sans-serif;\">Here&#8217;s how to print a list of installed programs on your Windows 10 or Windows 11 computer<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-size: 14pt; font-family: helvetica, arial, sans-serif;\">1.) Type CMD in the taskbar search<\/span><br \/>\n<span style=\"font-size: 14pt; font-family: helvetica, arial, sans-serif;\">2.) When Command Prompt appears in the search results click &#8220;Run as administrator&#8221;<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-size: 14pt; font-family: helvetica, arial, sans-serif;\">3.) At the prompt type&#8230; <strong>wmic<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-size: 14pt; font-family: helvetica, arial, sans-serif;\">then press Enter.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-size: 14pt; font-family: helvetica, arial, sans-serif;\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-full\" src=\"https:\/\/thundercloud.net\/infoave\/images\/2022\/listinstalled.png\" alt=\"List installed programs\" width=\"597\" height=\"180\" \/><\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-size: 14pt; font-family: helvetica, arial, sans-serif;\">4.) Next type (exactly) or copy &amp; paste:<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-size: 14pt; font-family: helvetica, arial, sans-serif;\"><strong>C:\\InstalledPrograms.txt product get name, version<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-size: 14pt; font-family: helvetica, arial, sans-serif;\">5.) Press Enter. It may take several minutes to generate the list of installed programs.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-size: 14pt; font-family: helvetica, arial, sans-serif;\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-full\" src=\"https:\/\/thundercloud.net\/infoave\/images\/2022\/listinstalled1.png\" alt=\"List installed programs\" width=\"597\" height=\"180\" \/><\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-size: 14pt; font-family: helvetica, arial, sans-serif;\">6.) Close the Command Prompt window. <\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-size: 14pt; font-family: helvetica, arial, sans-serif;\">Now, open File Explorer (Windows key + E) and look in the root of the C:\\drive for the file named &#8220;InstalledPrograms.txt&#8221;. <\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-size: 14pt; font-family: helvetica, arial, sans-serif;\">You can open it with Notepad, but it looks neater if you open it with WordPad. Just right-click on InstalledPrograms.txt and choose &#8220;Open with&#8221; &gt; &#8220;WordPad&#8221;.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-size: 14pt; font-family: helvetica, arial, sans-serif;\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone \" src=\"https:\/\/thundercloud.net\/infoave\/images\/2022\/installedprograms1.png\" alt=\"List installed programs\" width=\"598\" height=\"520\" \/><\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-size: 14pt; font-family: helvetica, arial, sans-serif;\">Keep in mind this may not be a complete list. You may have some programs, for instance, portable software, that won&#8217;t show up on this lis<\/span><span style=\"font-size: 14pt;\">t.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><strong><span style=\"font-size: 18pt; font-family: helvetica, arial, sans-serif;\">Here&#8217;s another way to print a list of all programs on your computer&#8230;<\/span><\/strong><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-family: helvetica, arial, sans-serif; font-size: 14pt;\">If you have problems running the commands above, here&#8217;s another way of creating a list of installed programs you can print.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-family: helvetica, arial, sans-serif; font-size: 14pt;\"><a href=\"https:\/\/www.nirsoft.net\/utils\/uninstall_view.html\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"><span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\"><strong>Download UninstallView from Nirsoft<\/strong><\/span><\/a> (Free). <\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-family: helvetica, arial, sans-serif; font-size: 14pt;\">Unzip the file and click on UninstallView.exe (application). Wait for the program to scan your computer. Once it&#8217;s done scanning, you&#8217;ll have a complete list of programs installed on your PC. You can list them A to Z or Z to A.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-family: helvetica, arial, sans-serif; font-size: 14pt;\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-full\" src=\"https:\/\/thundercloud.net\/infoave\/images\/2022\/uninstallview.png\" alt=\"UninstallView Cloudeight\" width=\"600\" height=\"482\" \/><\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-family: helvetica, arial, sans-serif; font-size: 14pt;\">Once you have the programs in the order you want them, click on &#8220;View&#8221; on the toolbar, then click &#8220;HTML Report &#8212; All items&#8221;.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-family: helvetica, arial, sans-serif; font-size: 14pt;\"><img decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-full\" src=\"https:\/\/thundercloud.net\/infoave\/images\/2022\/uninstallview1.png\" alt=\"UninstallView Cloudeight\" \/><\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-family: helvetica, arial, sans-serif; font-size: 14pt;\">A copy will be saved in the folder where you extracted UnistallView with the name of Report.HTML.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-family: helvetica, arial, sans-serif; font-size: 14pt;\"><img decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-full\" src=\"https:\/\/thundercloud.net\/infoave\/images\/2022\/uninstallview2.png\" alt=\"UninstallView Cloudeight\" \/><\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-family: helvetica, arial, sans-serif; font-size: 14pt;\">Also, as soon as you click on &#8220;HTML Report &#8212; All items&#8221;, a copy will open in your default browser.
