Three Tips Tuesday > Part Three<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n It’s Tuesday and time for another edition of Three Tips Tuesday.\u00a0<\/span> We hope you find one or more of these tips helpful.<\/span><\/p>\n Tip #1 > A browser tip for all browsers<\/span><\/strong><\/p>\n Most of you have a Web page you call your home page. In case you\u2019re wondering, the browser\u2019s home page or \u201cStart\u201d page is the page that opens when you first start your browser. Of course, we\u2019re sure it\u2019s\u00a0https:\/\/thundercloud.net\/start\/<\/a>\u00a0because you like us so much. Alas, it\u2019s probably not though\u2026 but we can always hope.<\/span><\/p>\n Anyway, when you\u2019re surfing the Web and have several tabs open, and you decide you want to return to your home page quickly, here\u2019s how to do it fast! Press the Alt key + the Home key on your keyboard to return to your home (start) page in a jiffy.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n Let’s try it! When you have a zillion tabs open and you want to return to your home (start) page quickly, give your mouse a rest and use the Alt + Home shortcut.<\/span><\/p>\n Tip 2 > A copy & paste tip<\/span><\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n This tip works in any version of Windows, including Windows 11.<\/em><\/span><\/p>\n How do you copy? Do you copy text and links from the left to right or right to left? Did you know if you copy text from left to right, Windows automatically adds a space to the beginning of the first line when you paste what you copied?<\/span><\/p>\n While that\u2019s not a problem most of the time. But it can be a major problem if you are copying and pasting passwords, usernames, a line of computer code, a registry entry, etc. That space at the beginning of the first line can cause major problems.<\/span><\/p>\n So, from now on try to get used to copying from right to left to avoid that extra space at the beginning of the first line that Windows adds automatically.<\/span><\/p>\n Copy that?<\/span><\/p>\n Tip 3 > Compacting folders in OE Classic (and why you should)<\/span><\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n First, we’d like to thank Leslie for sending us this tip. If you don’t, see this page.<\/a> Don’t worry, the link opens in a new tab so you won’t miss this tip :-).<\/span><\/p>\n Let’s Compact Folders in OE Classic<\/span><\/strong><\/p>\n In OE CLASSIC click on “File” in the toolbar then choose “Folder”\u00a0 and select “Compact All”. You’ll see a red progress bar. When compacting is complete, the progress bar turns green to show that the compacting operation was successful.<\/span><\/p>\n Compacting folders monthly helps to ensure that OE Classic will continue to run smoothly.
