A screensaver can be set to turn on when your computer has been idle for a period of time. A screen saver is usually a slideshow of different pictures, designs and\/or animations \u2013 some have music as well. A screen saver does not replace your wallpaper.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-size: 14pt; font-family: helvetica, arial, sans-serif;\">Back in the early days of computers when CRT monitors were popular, screensavers were necessary to prevent \u201cscreen burn-in\u201d \u2013 that means whatever is on your screen for a long time gets burned into the monitor and can\u2019t be removed. Modern computer monitors and screens have high refresh rates so burn-in is no longer a problem. However, many people still like to have a screen saver playing when they\u2019re not using their computers.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-size: 14pt; font-family: helvetica, arial, sans-serif;\">Windows 10 comes with several screen savers. First of all, LifeLock has been sued several times for false advertising. No software in this world can prevent identity theft. Norton is overkill \u2013 it puts tentacles everywhere, it comes with a VPN that you can\u2019t turn off (you can only remove it with a special program), it\u2019s expensive, and with all that being said it does not protect your computer any better than many other security programs.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-size: 14pt; font-family: helvetica, arial, sans-serif;\">Lifelock does not protect your identity or make you anonymous. Lifelock can\u2019t stop you from being tricked into giving a scammer your personal info. And their \u201cMillion-dollar guarantee\u201d that they will back you up if you\u2019re using Lifelock and your identity is stolen has been the gist of many false advertising lawsuits filed against them. It\u2019s easier to promise \u201cmillion-dollar protection\u201d than to pay out the million dollars when the protection fails.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-size: 14pt; font-family: helvetica, arial, sans-serif;\">NortonLifeLock advertises \u201cas low as $9.99\u201d a month, but costs you $11.99 a month after the first year \u2013 and all the while you\u2019ll be prompted to upgrade to a \u201cbetter\u201d version of NortonLifeLock which has plans that cost up to $349.99 a year.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-size: 14pt; font-family: helvetica, arial, sans-serif;\">On several independent antivirus testing sites, NortonLifeLock\u2019s antivirus protection rating was about the same as Microsoft Defender which comes with Windows 10 and Windows 11 and doesn\u2019t cost anything.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-size: 14pt; font-family: helvetica, arial, sans-serif;\">Norton LifeLock can slow down your PC.
