But if you want to add a folder to the start menu, you have to drag it there.<\/p>\n<p>We\u2019re going to show you how to add the right-click \u201cPin to Start Menu\u201d work for folders too. This tip requires editing your Windows Registry. We highly recommend you create a system restore point before proceeding.<\/p>\n<p>1. Press the Windows Key + R (this opens the Run command)<br \/>\n2. Enter Regedit.exe and press Enter, or click OK.<br \/>\n3. Browse to the following location: HKEY_CLASSES_ROOTFoldershellexContextMenuHandlers<br \/>\n4. Create a new key called {a2a9545d-a0c2-42b4-9708-a0b2badd77c8} with no value.<br \/>\n5. Close the Registry Editor<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"http:\/\/thundercloud.net\/infoave\/images\/2010\/pin-folder2.png\" border=\"0\" alt=\"InfoAve by Cloudeight\" width=\"325\" height=\"388\" \/><\/p>\n<p>That\u2019s it. You\u2019re done. You will have to reboot your computer before you have the option to pin folders to the start menu.
