Two Gmail Tips: How and Why to Enable the Send and Archive Button; How to Set the Default Text Style in Gmail<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n

Enable the Send & Archive button and keep your inbox cleaner<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n

If your Gmail inbox contains a long list of emails that you\u2019ve already replied to (and by default, they\u2019ll stay in your inbox even after you\u2019ve replied), here\u2019s a tip that allows you to reply and archive an email simultaneously. So, when you reply to someone, their email is moved from the inbox to the \u201call mail\u201d folder as soon as you hit the \u201cSend & Archive\u201d button.<\/span><\/p>\n

So how do you get the \u201cSend & Archive button\u201d? Easy!<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n

Open Gmail, click on the gear icon near the top right, and click \u201cSee all settings\u201d.<\/span><\/p>\n

Under the \u201cGeneral\u201d tab, scroll down until you see \u201cShow \u2018Send & Archive’\u201d and\u201d tick the box next to the Show \u2018Send & Archive button in reply.<\/span><\/p>\n

Next: Scroll down to the bottom of the page and click \u201cSave changes\u201d.<\/span><\/p>\n

Now when you reply to an email using the Send & Archive button, the mail you replied to is moved out of your inbox and archived in the \u201cAll Mail\u201d folder, making for a much less cluttered inbox\u2026 plus you will still have a copy of the mail in your Sent folder and the All Mail folder.<\/span><\/p>\n

How to change the default text style (font) in Gmail<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n

Open Gmail, click on the gear icon near the top right, and click \u201cSee all settings\u201d.<\/span><\/p>\n

Scroll down in \u201cSettings\u201d until you see \u201cDefault text style\u201d.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

Click the small down arrow next to the current font name to open the text style (font) menu.<\/span><\/p>\n

When the menu opens, select the font you want to use as your Gmail default.<\/span><\/p>\n
