Today, we\u2019re featuring some of the questions and answers from past issues of our\u00a0InfoAve Weekly<\/a> newsletters.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n These questions & answers were selected at random from past InfoAve Weekly newsletters.<\/span><\/p>\n Saturday Bonus Questions and Answers – 021724<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n Jeanne wants to know how to set up a Gmail account in Outlook<\/strong><\/span> Our answer<\/strong><\/span> Click \u201cFile\u201d at the top.<\/span><\/p>\n Then click \u201cInfo\u201d.<\/span><\/p>\n Under \u201cAccount Information\u201d, look for \u201cAccount Settings\u201d.<\/span><\/p>\n When you click Account Settings you will see several items appear\u2026 the one you want is at the top.<\/span><\/p>\n It says \u201cAdd or remove accounts or change existing connection settings\u201d.<\/span><\/p>\n Click on Account Settings in the drop-down (it is the first one).<\/span><\/p>\n The Email accounts dialog will open. Click on Email then \u201cNew\u201d.<\/span><\/p>\n Once you click on New > Email the following dialog will appear. Just type in the email address you want to set up. And click \u201cConnect\u2019.<\/span><\/p>\n After you click Connect you\u2019ll be asked to type in your email account password. After you enter your password click \u201cSign in\u201d.<\/span><\/p>\n Note that if you are setting up a Gmail account when you click \u201cConnect\u201d a Google sign-in page will appear where you\u2019ll need to enter your username and password which will then be passed to Outlook.<\/span><\/p>\n Outlook can automatically configure Gmail, Outlook.com, Hotmail.com, Yahoo.com, and several others so you don\u2019t have to do anything as far as server settings, etc. Outlook automatically set up email accounts as IMAP and this is the way it should be.<\/span><\/p>\n Also note, if necessary, you can change existing accounts this way too.<\/span><\/p>\n We hope this helps you, Jeanne.<\/span><\/p>\n Sharon K. wants to know where to get Windows 11<\/strong><\/span> Our answer<\/strong><\/span> Before you try to upgrade, go to this page<\/a> and make sure your PC can run Windows 11; not all Windows 10 computers can.<\/span><\/p>\n We hope this helps you, Sharon.<\/span><\/p>\n Jimmie has a friend who is locked out of their PC<\/strong><\/span> Fast forward to the present. They now have fiber internet and when they started to use it again, they couldn\u2019t get past the login screen. Someone changed the password for Windows, and no one can remember the password. I have searched your site and have been unable to find any info to help them. Naturally, they didn\u2019t create a disc or thumb drive to reset it before loaning it out.<\/span><\/p>\n So, the question is there anything that can be done to reset\/change the login password without a disc or thumb drive? Here\u2019s one<\/a>.<\/span><\/p>\n The only other way we know they\u2019ll be able to access their computer is by doing a factory reset. The only way to do this without a Windows installation disk is to do a factory reset. This will return the laptop to the state it was in the day it was purchased. This means if it came with Windows 7, it would reset to Windows 7 but Windows 10 is still a free upgrade. It will also wipe all the data from the machine so you\u2019ll be starting from scratch. See this page<\/a> to learn how to reset an HP laptop.<\/span><\/p>\n If the laptop came with Windows 10 then it will have Windows 10 after the reset. I could not make out anything. I opened the other ones I had saved, and they were all like that. When I saved one, I opened it and clicked on save as to the flash drive. \nHi Jane. It depends on how you read them. Do you read them with an Email program? If so, what program? Many programs save the files as EML files and you can store them on a flash drive, but it would be inconvenient since they\u2019re small (under 60KB for the Weekly and only a few KB for the Daily newsletters). It would take about 200 newsletters to make 1 Megabyte and 20,000 to make one gigabyte.<\/span><\/p>\n
