Over time, unless you check your startups frequently and manage them, the list of startup apps and programs can grow. And this can hinder your computer&#8217;s performance. Why? Because every program or app that starts with Windows constantly runs in the background using computer resources.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><strong><span style=\"font-size: 18pt; font-family: helvetica, arial, sans-serif;\">Tell Windows you want to be notified whenever a program or app adds itself to Windows startups<\/span><\/strong><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-size: 14pt; font-family: helvetica, arial, sans-serif;\">If you&#8217;re using Windows 11 and you want to be notified whenever a program or app adds itself to Windows startups, here is what you need to do.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-size: 14pt; font-family: helvetica, arial, sans-serif;\">Open Settings (Windows Key + i)<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-size: 14pt; font-family: helvetica, arial, sans-serif;\">Click on System in the left sidebar, then select the Notifications section on the right. <\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-size: 14pt; font-family: helvetica, arial, sans-serif;\">The settings page for notifications will appear.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-size: 14pt; font-family: helvetica, arial, sans-serif;\">Scroll down to the bottom of the notifications page. <\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-size: 14pt; font-family: helvetica, arial, sans-serif;\">Just above Additional settings, you\u2019ll see &#8220;Startup App Notification&#8221;\u00a0 which is switched off by default. You&#8217;ll need to move the slider to On.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-size: 14pt; font-family: helvetica, arial, sans-serif;\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-full\" src=\"https:\/\/thundercloud.net\/infoave\/images\/2024\/startup11.png\" alt=\"Be Notified When a Program or App Adds Itself to Windows Startup - Cloudeight InfoAve\" width=\"598\" height=\"660\" \/><\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-size: 14pt; font-family: helvetica, arial, sans-serif;\">Note that Notifications need to be enabled for this to work. If you\u2019ve disabled Notifications, you will need to turn it on for this to work. <\/span><\/p>\n<p><strong><span style=\"font-size: 18pt; font-family: helvetica, arial, sans-serif;\">But wait, notifications can be so annoying!<\/span><\/strong><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-size: 14pt; font-family: helvetica, arial, sans-serif;\">We find, in most cases, Notifications are annoying. So if you&#8217;ve had Notifications turned off and you turn them on so you can be notified of new startup apps, you&#8217;ll see a long of programs and apps and most of them will be switched on &#8211; in other words, set to send notifications. We suggest you turn most of them off if you don&#8217;t want to be constantly annoyed by unimportant notifications popping up.\u00a0 But being notified whenever a program or app adds itself to Windows startups can help you keep your computer from becoming bogged down by too many Startups.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><strong><span style=\"font-size: 18pt; font-family: helvetica, arial, sans-serif;\">Why not check your startups right now?<\/span><\/strong><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-size: 14pt; font-family: helvetica, arial, sans-serif;\">Right now would be a great time to check your startups!<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-size: 14pt; font-family: helvetica, arial, sans-serif;\">Open the Task Manager by using the shortcut CTRL+SHIFT+ESC. <\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-size: 14pt; font-family: helvetica, arial, sans-serif;\">When Task Manager opens click on &#8220;Startup apps&#8221; on the left.\u00a0 You&#8217;ll see a list of programs\/apps on your computer. Some will be &#8220;Enabled&#8221; and some will be &#8220;Disabled&#8221;. There should be more programs\/apps &#8220;Disabled&#8221; than\u00a0 &#8220;Enabled&#8221;. Your antivirus\/security software always needs to be enabled. You do not need browsers, email programs, chat programs, word processors, or image editors starting with Windows.
