You\u2019ll see how the battery\u2019s charge capacity has changed since your laptop (or battery) was new. Like most rechargeable batteries, laptop batteries&#8217; capacity and performance degrade with age. An older laptop battery cannot hold as much charge as a newer battery. The lower the battery\u2019s capacity, the less time you\u2019ll have to use your device while on battery power.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-size: 14pt; font-family: helvetica, arial, sans-serif;\">Both Windows 10 and 11 allow you to check your battery\u2019s health quickly and learn more about your laptop battery than you probably ever wanted to know. <\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-size: 14pt; font-family: helvetica, arial, sans-serif;\">It\u2019s easy to do.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-size: 14pt; font-family: helvetica, arial, sans-serif;\">1.) Type CMD in the taskbar search<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-size: 14pt; font-family: helvetica, arial, sans-serif;\">2.) When the Command Prompt appears at the top, right-click on it and choose \u201cRun as administrator.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-size: 14pt; font-family: helvetica, arial, sans-serif;\">3.) When the command prompt window opens, type the following command at the prompt:<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-size: 14pt; font-family: helvetica, arial, sans-serif;\">POWERCFG \/BATTERYREPORT<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-size: 14pt; font-family: helvetica, arial, sans-serif;\">Make sure you leave a space before the slash. Press Enter:<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-size: 14pt; font-family: helvetica, arial, sans-serif;\"><img decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-full\" src=\"http:\/\/thundercloud.net\/infoave\/images\/2024\/br24.png\" alt=\"Cloudeight InfoAve Windows tips\" \/><\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-size: 14pt; font-family: helvetica, arial, sans-serif;\">4:) <strong>Windows 10<\/strong> &#8211; After a few seconds, you\u2019ll see that Windows has generated a battery-report.html file and saved it in C:\\Windows\\System32\\battery-report.html. In File Explorer, navigate to C:\\Windows\\System 32 and find the file named \u201cbattery-report.html\u201d. Hint. Once you navigate to C:\\Windows\\System32, type battery in the File Explorer search, and the file will appear at the top.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-size: 14pt; font-family: helvetica, arial, sans-serif;\"><strong>Windows 11<\/strong> &#8211; After a few seconds, you\u2019ll see that Windows has generated a battery-report.html file and saved it in C:\\Users\\Your Username\\battery-report.html.
