Christmas is coming soon and many of you will be getting a new computer, tablet, smartphone, smart thermostat, Roku player, smart TV, or another internet-connected device. You\u2019re going to need to know what your WiFi password is so you can set up your new device to connect to your home WiFi.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-size: 14pt; font-family: helvetica, arial, sans-serif;\">If you\u2019re like us, you set up your wireless network quite a while ago and can&#8217;t remember what your WiFi password is. So, if you get a new internet-connected device and you need to know your wireless password, we\u2019re going to show you how a quick and easy way to find it in both Windows 10 and Windows 11.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-size: 18pt; font-family: helvetica, arial, sans-serif;\"><strong>How to find your Wi-Fi<\/strong><\/span><span style=\"font-size: 14pt; font-family: helvetica, arial, sans-serif;\"><strong><span style=\"font-size: 18pt;\"> password in Windows 10<\/span><br \/>\n<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-size: 14pt; font-family: helvetica, arial, sans-serif;\">Type \u201cNetwork connections\u201d in the taskbar search and press Enter when you see Network connections appear in the search results<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-size: 14pt; font-family: helvetica, arial, sans-serif;\">In the Network connections dialog click, on your WiFi connection.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-size: 14pt; font-family: helvetica, arial, sans-serif;\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone \" src=\"https:\/\/thundercloud.net\/infoave\/images\/2017\/find-network-pass0a.png\" alt=\"Cloudeight InfoAve\" width=\"545\" height=\"267\" \/><\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-size: 14pt; font-family: helvetica, arial, sans-serif;\">Next, click on Status in the drop-down menu (see image below) which appears when you right-click on your WiFi connection.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-size: 14pt; font-family: helvetica, arial, sans-serif;\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone \" src=\"https:\/\/thundercloud.net\/infoave\/images\/2017\/find-network-pass1.png\" alt=\"Cloudeight InfoAve\" width=\"430\" height=\"359\" \/><\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-size: 14pt; font-family: helvetica, arial, sans-serif;\">In the Wi-Fi Status dialog, click on the Wireless Properties button (see screenshot below):<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-size: 14pt; font-family: helvetica, arial, sans-serif;\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone \" src=\"https:\/\/thundercloud.net\/infoave\/images\/2017\/find-network-pass2.png\" alt=\"Cloudeight InfoAve\" width=\"424\" height=\"508\" \/><\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-size: 14pt; font-family: helvetica, arial, sans-serif;\">In Wireless Network Properties, click on the Security tab at the top (see image below):<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-size: 14pt; font-family: helvetica, arial, sans-serif;\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone \" src=\"https:\/\/thundercloud.net\/infoave\/images\/2017\/find-network-pass3.png\" alt=\"Cloudeight InfoAve\" width=\"426\" height=\"553\" \/><\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-size: 14pt; font-family: helvetica, arial, sans-serif;\">In the Wireless Network Properties Security dialog, tick the box next to \u201cShow Characters\u201d and your password will be shown to you unencrypted \u2013 in plain text.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-size: 14pt; font-family: helvetica, arial, sans-serif;\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone \" src=\"https:\/\/thundercloud.net\/infoave\/images\/2017\/find-network-pass4.png\" alt=\"Cloudeight InfoAve\" width=\"436\" height=\"566\" \/><\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-size: 14pt; font-family: helvetica, arial, sans-serif;\">The above method also works in both Windows 10 and Windows 11&#8230;\u00a0 but if you&#8217;re using Windows 11, there&#8217;s an easier way.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-size: 18pt;\"><strong><span style=\"font-family: helvetica, arial, sans-serif;\">The Quick and Easy Way to Find Your Wireless Password in Windows 11<\/span><\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-size: 14pt; font-family: helvetica, arial, sans-serif;\">Open Settings &gt; Network &amp; internet and click on Wi-Fi<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-size: 14pt; font-family: helvetica, arial, sans-serif;\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-full\" src=\"https:\/\/thundercloud.net\/infoave\/images\/2025\/wpass11.png\" alt=\"Find your wireless password in Windows 11 - Cloudeight InfoAve\" width=\"588\" height=\"728\" \/><\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-size: 14pt; font-family: helvetica, arial, sans-serif;\">Click on your wireless network name. As you can see, mine is NETGEAR52<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-size: 14pt; font-family: helvetica, arial, sans-serif;\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-full\" src=\"https:\/\/thundercloud.net\/infoave\/images\/2025\/wpass11a.png\" alt=\"Find your wireless password in Windows 11 - Cloudeight InfoAve\" width=\"588\" height=\"652\" \/><\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-size: 14pt; font-family: helvetica, arial, sans-serif;\">Now, scroll down on the Wi-Fi &gt; Your Network Name page and you&#8217;ll see &#8220;View Wi-Fi security key&#8221; with a &#8220;View&#8221; button to its right.
