Some ways are just faster and simpler than others. We always try to use the quickest, easiest, simplest way to do things.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-size: 14pt; font-family: helvetica, arial, sans-serif;\">Most of the time when we write articles for the newsletter that tell you to open the Run command and type a command in the Run box; we tell you to press the Windows Key + R to open it and then type a command.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-size: 14pt; font-family: helvetica, arial, sans-serif;\">For instance, to see what version of Windows 10 you\u2019re using we\u2019d have you type WINVER in the Run box and press Enter.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-size: 14pt; font-family: helvetica, arial, sans-serif;\">But did you know you can also run many commands and open some programs using the Windows 10 or 11 taskbar search?<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-size: 14pt; font-family: helvetica, arial, sans-serif;\">Indeed you can\u2026<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-size: 14pt; font-family: helvetica, arial, sans-serif;\">Let\u2019s try it. Just type <strong>MSINFO<\/strong> in the taskbar search. When the \u201cSystem Information\u201d appears in the search results, press Enter or click \u201cOpen\u201d. You\u2019ll also have the option to pin this useful app to your Start menu or taskbar.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-size: 14pt; font-family: helvetica, arial, sans-serif;\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-full\" src=\"https:\/\/thundercloud.net\/infoave\/images\/2022\/msinfo.png\" alt=\"Windows 10 and 11 tips and tricks -Cloudeight\" width=\"600\" height=\"436\" \/><\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-size: 14pt; font-family: helvetica, arial, sans-serif;\">The System Information app gives you tons of info about your computer &#8211; try it and see!<\/span><\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-full\" src=\"https:\/\/thundercloud.net\/infoave\/images\/2025\/info.png\" alt=\"MSINFO32 - Cloudeight InfoAve\" width=\"588\" height=\"578\" \/><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-size: 14pt; font-family: helvetica, arial, sans-serif;\">If you want to open Notepad, start typing Notepad. Before you can finish typing that word, it will appear in the search results \u2013 just press Enter or click Open, and Notepad will open.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-size: 14pt; font-family: helvetica, arial, sans-serif;\">You can open a Command prompt by typing COMMAND in the taskbar search.<br \/>\n<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-size: 14pt; font-family: helvetica, arial, sans-serif;\">You can even open an Administrator Command Prompt using the taskbar search. Type COMMAND in the taskbar search, right-click on Command Prompt when it occurs, and choose &#8220;Run as administrator&#8221;.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-size: 14pt; font-family: helvetica, arial, sans-serif;\">Want to open WiFi settings in a hurry? Type WiFi in the taskbar search and press Enter when Wi-Fi Settings appears in the search results.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-size: 14pt; font-family: helvetica, arial, sans-serif;\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-full\" src=\"https:\/\/thundercloud.net\/infoave\/images\/2025\/wi-fi.png\" alt=\"Wi-Fi settings- Cloudeight InfoAve\" width=\"588\" height=\"806\" \/><\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-size: 14pt; font-family: helvetica, arial, sans-serif;\">You can open many other settings, programs, and apps this way too. For instance, in the taskbar search type Chrome and press Enter. Or type Firefox and press Enter. Try some of your favorite programs. And if you&#8217;re looking to find a program type the first letter or two of the program or app in the taskbar search\u00a0 &#8211; for instance on my PC, Control Panel, Calculator, and Google Chrome appear immediately.
