Here’s How to Sign Out of Windows 10 or Windows 11<\/span><\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n

We\u2019ve had several people ask how to sign out of Windows 10. It\u2019s very easy to do, but if you don\u2019t know where to look, it can be frustrating.<\/span><\/p>\n

Before we get to the gist of signing out of Windows 10, we\u2019ll tell you why signing out can save you time. Instead of shutting down at the end of the day, you can sign out of your account. It will make for a much quicker start to your day when all you have to do is log in instead of starting up your computer. Also, some software installations tell you to \u201csign out\u201d or \u201crestart\u201d after installation. If a program installation gives you that choice, you\u2019ll save time by signing out rather than restarting your PC.<\/span><\/p>\n

So now on with the show.<\/span><\/p>\n

Most of the time, to restart Windows, you\u2019ll click the Start button and click \u201cRestart\u201d (or \u201cUpdate and Restart\u201d if you have Windows updates pending). But, as you can see, clicking \u201cStart\u201d \u201cPower options\u201d does not give you the option to sign out. See?<\/span><\/p>\n

The default options are \u201cSleep\u201d, \u201cShut down\u201d (or \u201cUpdate & shut down\u201d if you have updates pending), or \u201cUpdate\u201d (or \u201cUpdate and restart if you have updates pending). There is no \u201cSign out\u201d on that menu.<\/span><\/p>\n

Here\u2019s a quick and easy way to get to the Sign Out option without jumping through hoops.<\/span><\/p>\n

Right-click on the start button, click (or hover over) \u201cShutdown or sign out\u201d:<\/span><\/p>\n
