But some of these more \u201cgeeky\u201d commands must be run from a Windows Run box\u2026 but then again, not all of them.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-size: 14pt; font-family: helvetica, arial, sans-serif;\"><strong>Let\u2019s open a Run dialog (or Run box as we call it):<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-size: 14pt; font-family: helvetica, arial, sans-serif;\">Right-click on the Windows 10 or Windows 11 start button and click \u201cRun\u201d. Or press the Windows key + R<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-size: 14pt; font-family: helvetica, arial, sans-serif;\">Now that we have that out of the way, let\u2019s do some geeky stuff!<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-size: 14pt; font-family: helvetica, arial, sans-serif;\"><strong>Open the C: Drive <\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-size: 14pt; font-family: helvetica, arial, sans-serif;\">1. Open a Run box (Windows key + R)<\/span><br \/>\n<span style=\"font-size: 14pt; font-family: helvetica, arial, sans-serif;\">2. Type a backward slash \u2013 (that would be this: \\ ) in the Run box<\/span><br \/>\n<span style=\"font-size: 14pt; font-family: helvetica, arial, sans-serif;\">3. Type two dots in the Run box<\/span><br \/>\n<span style=\"font-size: 14pt; font-family: helvetica, arial, sans-serif;\">3. Open a Run box (Windows Key + R)<\/span><br \/>\n<span style=\"font-size: 14pt; font-family: helvetica, arial, sans-serif;\">2. Type RESMON in the Run box<\/span><br \/>\n<span style=\"font-size: 14pt; font-family: helvetica, arial, sans-serif;\">3. Open a Run box (Windows Key + R)<\/span><br \/>\n<span style=\"font-size: 14pt; font-family: helvetica, arial, sans-serif;\">2. Type CHROME \u201c?Search\u201d in the Run box \u2013 replacing the word Search with whatever you&#8217;re searching for<\/span><br \/>\n<span style=\"font-size: 14pt; font-family: helvetica, arial, sans-serif;\">3. Press Enter<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-size: 14pt; font-family: helvetica, arial, sans-serif;\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-full\" src=\"https:\/\/thundercloud.net\/infoave\/images\/2022\/runsearch.png\" alt=\"Cloudeight Windows Tips\" width=\"572\" height=\"338\" \/><\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-size: 14pt; font-family: helvetica, arial, sans-serif;\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/thundercloud.net\/infoave\/images\/2026\/easter26.png\" alt=\"Cloudeight Windows Tips\" \/><\/span><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-size: 14pt; font-family: helvetica, arial, sans-serif;\">You can also use Microsoft Edge and its default search engine, Bing, to search from a Run Box. Just type MSEDGE &#8220;? and whatever you&#8217;re searching for in the Run Box. In this case, we&#8217;re searching for the date of Easter this year (2024).<br \/>\n<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-size: 14pt; font-family: helvetica, arial, sans-serif;\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/thundercloud.net\/infoave\/images\/2024\/runboxms.png\" alt=\"Cloudeight Windows Tips\" width=\"572\" height=\"338\" \/><\/span><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-size: 14pt; font-family: helvetica, arial, sans-serif;\">We\u2019re not sure how useful these are, but you can dazzle your friends, confound your enemies, or have fun playing around with these tricks. Who knows?
