Yeah, it&#8217;s basically a non-technical technical newsletter for non-technical people who use Windows. We feature computer tips, how-tos, freeware picks, computer advice, and a lot of other stuff, as most of our subscribers know.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-size: 14pt;\"><em><span style=\"font-family: helvetica, arial, sans-serif;\">What? Are you not a subscriber? <span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\"><a href=\"https:\/\/thundercloud.net\/join.htm\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Let&#8217;s fix that!<\/a><\/span><\/span><\/em><\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-family: helvetica, arial, sans-serif; font-size: 14pt;\">This week, while Darcy is exploring the Nile River with her socialite buddies, I decided to take the bull by the horns &#8211; so to speak &#8211; and create my own &#8220;Site of the Week&#8221; again. So here it is&#8230;<\/span><\/p>\n<p><strong><span style=\"font-family: helvetica, arial, sans-serif; font-size: 18pt;\">Part #2 of &#8220;TC&#8217;s Amazin&#8217; Stuff.&#8221;<\/span><\/strong><\/p>\n<ol>\n<li style=\"font-family: helvetica, arial, sans-serif; font-size: 14pt;\"><span style=\"font-family: helvetica, arial, sans-serif; font-size: 14pt;\">Humans can distinguish at least <b data-path-to-node=\"2,1,0\" data-index-in-node=\"46\">1 trillion<\/b> different odors, making our sense of smell far more sophisticated than previously thought.<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-family: helvetica, arial, sans-serif; font-size: 14pt;\"><span style=\"font-family: helvetica, arial, sans-serif; font-size: 14pt;\">If you laid all the blood vessels in an adult human body end-to-end, they would stretch for about <b data-path-to-node=\"2,2,0\" data-index-in-node=\"120\">60,000 miles<\/b>\u2014enough to circle the Earth more than twice.<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-family: helvetica, arial, sans-serif; font-size: 14pt;\"><span style=\"font-family: helvetica, arial, sans-serif; font-size: 14pt;\">Crows can recognize human faces and can hold &#8220;grudges&#8221; against specific people for years, even teaching their offspring which humans to avoid.<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-family: helvetica, arial, sans-serif; font-size: 14pt;\"><span style=\"font-family: helvetica, arial, sans-serif; font-size: 14pt;\">It takes a sloth up to <b data-path-to-node=\"5,2,0\" data-index-in-node=\"42\">30 days<\/b> to digest a single leaf. They can actually starve to death on a full stomach if the weather is too cold for their gut bacteria to work.<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-family: helvetica, arial, sans-serif; font-size: 14pt;\">Astronauts consistently describe the smell of outer space as a mix of <b data-path-to-node=\"8,1,0\" data-index-in-node=\"83\">seared steak, hot metal, and welding fumes<\/b>.<\/li>\n<li style=\"font-family: helvetica, arial, sans-serif; font-size: 14pt;\">Parts of the Atacama Desert in Chile have gone over <b data-path-to-node=\"8,2,0\" data-index-in-node=\"70\">400 years<\/b> without a single drop of rain.<\/li>\n<li style=\"font-family: helvetica, arial, sans-serif; font-size: 14pt;\">Humans are literally made of &#8220;stardust.&#8221; Almost every element in our bodies was forged in the heart of a dying star.<\/li>\n<li style=\"font-family: helvetica, arial, sans-serif; font-size: 14pt;\">Greenland sharks can live for over <b data-path-to-node=\"2,5,0\" data-index-in-node=\"52\">400 years<\/b>. For context, Jack the Ripper was still making headlines, and the Ottoman Empire was still a functioning world power.<\/li>\n<li style=\"font-family: helvetica, arial, sans-serif; font-size: 14pt;\"><b data-path-to-node=\"2,3,0\" data-index-in-node=\"0\"><span class=\"citation-15\">The 1904 Olympic Marathon:<\/span><\/b><span class=\"citation-15 citation-end-15\"> This race was pure chaos.<\/span> <span class=\"citation-14\">The &#8220;winner&#8221; drove 11 miles in a car; another runner was chased a mile off-course by aggressive dogs; and the actual winner was kept going by his trainers injecting him with <\/span><b data-path-to-node=\"2,3,0\" data-index-in-node=\"227\"><span class=\"citation-14\">strychnine (rat poison)<\/span><\/b><span class=\"citation-14 citation-end-14\"> and brandy.<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-family: helvetica, arial, sans-serif; font-size: 14pt;\"><b data-path-to-node=\"5,0,0\" data-index-in-node=\"0\">Auto-Brewery Syndrome:<\/b><span class=\"citation-13 citation-end-13\"> There is a medical condition where the fungi in your gut ferment carbohydrates into ethanol.<\/span> People with this syndrome can become <b data-path-to-node=\"5,0,0\" data-index-in-node=\"153\">legally drunk<\/b> just by eating a bowl of pasta or a slice of cake.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<p><span style=\"font-size: 14pt; font-family: helvetica, arial, sans-serif;\">And a sweet little bonus for all of you older lovers out there&#8230;<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-family: helvetica, arial, sans-serif; font-size: 14pt;\"><strong>Couples\u2019 Heartbeat Synchrony:<\/strong>\u00a0 Amazing but true! When two people who have been together for a long time sit near each other, their heart rates and breathing patterns actually begin to synchronize.
