Microsoft will stop releasing updates and security patches for Windows 11 version 24H2 on October 13th. That\u2019s only a few days away.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-size: 14pt; font-family: helvetica, arial, sans-serif;\">Your PC won\u2019t suddenly stop working, but after that date it won\u2019t get security updates or fixes anymore. And that makes it a little riskier to use every month that goes by. Not what we want!<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-size: 14pt; font-family: helvetica, arial, sans-serif;\"><strong>Which version are you on? Here&#8217;s how to check:<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n<ul style=\"list-style-type: circle;\">\n<li><span style=\"font-size: 14pt; font-family: helvetica, arial, sans-serif;\">Press the Windows key + I to open Settings.<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"font-size: 14pt; font-family: helvetica, arial, sans-serif;\">Click System, then scroll all the way down and click About.<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"font-size: 14pt; font-family: helvetica, arial, sans-serif;\">Under Windows specifications, look at Version. If it says \u201c24H2,\u201d keep reading.<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><span style=\"font-size: 14pt; font-family: helvetica, arial, sans-serif;\"><strong>\u00a0For your safety and security, it&#8217;s time to upgrade:<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-size: 14pt; font-family: helvetica, arial, sans-serif;\">Windows 11 26H2 is out now, and that\u2019s the version we recommend. <\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-size: 14pt; font-family: helvetica, arial, sans-serif;\">Here&#8217;s what to do&#8230;<\/span><\/p>\n<ul style=\"list-style-type: circle;\">\n<li><span style=\"font-size: 14pt; font-family: helvetica, arial, sans-serif;\">Open Settings and click Windows Update.<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"font-size: 14pt; font-family: helvetica, arial, sans-serif;\">Turn on \u201cGet the latest updates as soon as they\u2019re available.\u201d<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"font-size: 14pt; font-family: helvetica, arial, sans-serif;\">When it says \u201cWindows 11, version 26H2 is available,\u201d go ahead and install it.<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><span style=\"font-size: 14pt; font-family: helvetica, arial, sans-serif;\">A few folks have run into minor hiccups with 26H2. But many users have found that the newest version of Windows helps Windows 11 run better on older computers.\u00a0\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-size: 14pt; font-family: helvetica, arial, sans-serif;\">So don\u2019t wait until the last minute. Check your version today and update.
