\n<\/strong>Hi Connie. We’re going to make an assumption — you don’t say what browser you’re using, all we know is you are using Windows 7. We’re assuming you use Internet Explorer 9. There’s a long way and a short way to turn off InPrivate Browsing. We’re going to give you the short way — the easy way.<\/p>\n

InPrivate Browsing in enabled on Internet Explorer 9 by default — and you’re right, there is no easy or obvious way to turn it off. Turning it off requires making changes to the registry so it’s important that before you do what we’re going to tell you to do, that you create a System Restore Point. On Windows 7 that’s very easy to do. Click your start button, right-click on “Computer”, select “Properties” and in the left-pane choose “System Protection”. In the System Protection dialog, click “Create (restore point)”.<\/p>\n

Now when that’s done, do this: Download this registry script\u00a0http:\/\/thundercloud.net\/infoave\/images\/2012\/disableinprivatebrowsing.zip<\/a>\u00a0 and save it to your desktop (it’s very small – less than a kb) Unzip it and right click on the disableinprivatebrowsing.reg file and choose Merge — then say OK to the warning. You may have to restart your computer for the changes to take effect.<\/p>\n
