We have had a lot of questions about Emsisoft – and by now we’re beginning to see a pattern of questions regarding Emsisoft’s Antivirus component. So we’ll address those here as well as some other frequently asked questions as well.<\/p>\n
Q. Do I need to keep my current antivirus if I purchase Emsisoft Anti-Malware?<\/p>\n
A. No, you do not. Will Emsisoft function along side of another antivirus? Sometimes. But remember running two antivirus programs uses resources and may, at times cause conflicts. And since Emsisoft Anti-Malware’s antivirus component was only one of three antivirus programs to score 100% on three different independent antivirus testing labs’ testing – and it was the only one which has a really effective anti-malware component that can help you keep your computer free of the malware most of you are likely to encounter, such as: Conduit, FunWebProducts, Imminent, SearchScopes, Web Cakes, InBox and other malware toolbars and programs which come bundled with other software. And no, Emsisoft Anti-Malware (Full version) is not free. But it’s not nearly as expensive as Norton, McAfee, TrendMicro or some of the others. Norton, McAfee, and TrendMicro couldn’t manage a detection score of better than 95% on the independent lab tests. And none of those have an antimalware component that protects you against the malware you’re most likely to encounter — the kind that comes hidden in software bundlers and wrappers that come from many download sites, including: CNet, Softronics, and Tucows.<\/p>\n
So can you use Emsisoft Anti-Malware along side of Microsoft Security Essentials? Usually… but why would you want to? Can you run it alongside Norton, McAfee, TrendMicro? We don’t think it’s a good idea — and why would you want to? Why use up your computer resources on unnecessary things?<\/p>\n
Q. I have some trace registry items that Emsisoft can’t remove. How dangerous are these?<\/p>\n
A. Registry traces, in most cases, are registry orphans leftover when your cleaned malware from your computer, and, in most cases won’t affect your computer — IN MOST CASES. If you find you do have traces of malware in your registry, do contact Emsisoft support and they will be glad to help you. We’ve tested the program, we’ve been using it for over a month, but we’re not the developers of the program — and those are the folks who know the program better than anyone. So, if you have a question about Emsisoft Anti-Malware, contact their support team — you’ll be glad you did. You’ll get an answer and you’ll be treated well. We guarantee it.<\/p>\n
Q. You guys seem to make Emsisoft seem perfect. Is it?<\/p>\n
A. No. No software program in the world is perfect. Good software is constantly evolving and improving, but no software in the world is perfect. Is Windows perfect? No – Windows is still, after all these years, imperfect. And it will probably always be imperfect. But Emsisoft is the best anti-malware \/ antivirus you can install on your computer at any price. It’s very important for all of you who are using Emsisoft to contact Emsisoft’s support team if you have a problem with or a question about the program. \u00a0Bringing issues and questions to their attention helps them make the program better and easier to use.
