And, before you balk at the timing, remember, you still have time to bake a batch before Christmas :-).

TC says if he cannot eat cookies anymore at least he can share this recipe with you and vicariously enjoy them as you enjoy them 🙂

Each cookie contains about 120 calories by my estimate — your estimate may vary — measure your waist and weigh yourself to learn more!

TC’s Grandma’s Sour Cream Cutout Cookies

Ingredients:

2 cups sugar
1 cup butter
1/4 teaspoon salt
3 eggs, beaten
1 cup sour cream
2 teaspoons vanilla
1/2 teaspoon ground cinnamon
1 cup flour
1 teaspoon baking powder
1 teaspoon baking soda
5-1/2 cups all-purpose flour

Cream sugar and butter and add salt, eggs, sour cream, vanilla and cinnamon. Beat well. Add one cup of flour, baking powder, and soda, mix well. Now, gradually add the 5-1/2 cups flour, stirring and working it in with your hands. Dough will still be a little bit sticky. Then chill thoroughly, several hours or overnight. Roll out about 1/4 at a time on waxed paper (lightly dusted with flour) to about 1/4 inch thick and cut with cookie cutters into your favorite Christmas cookie shapes. Bake in a 350 degree oven for six to seven minutes – or until the cookies barely start to brown. Do not over bake! Recipe makes six to seven dozen cookies depending on the size of your cookie cutters.

Yummy! Yummy! Eat your heart out NSA – no pun intended. Oh wait, you just intercepted this recipe with your big dish antennas! Well, I hope you enjoy them.
