For the first time in over fifteen years, we have taken some measurable time off. Even during our time off, Darcy’s been filling orders and answering support mail — but we haven’t been doing Cloudeight Direct Computer Care repair sessions or writing newsletters. So we have had extra free time off to reconnect with our families and friends — and to explore life “outside the box”. \u00a0But we still had our smartphones and tablets with us, and our computers just a short walk away; sometimes it’s been hard to stay away. But we really needed time to recharge.<\/p>\n

So when when we saw this article, we thought we’d share this with you — and ask you one simple question: Are you addicted to the Internet? Well, are you?<\/p>\n

Connected Culture Could Be Bad for Your Health<\/h2>\n

Our lives are increasingly dominated by never-ending to-do lists and full email inboxes. We try to jam 54 hours into a 24-hour day. We no longer have the energy we want to spend time doing what matters most to us and the numbers prove it.<\/p>\n

The 40-hour work week is a relic of the past. 40% of Americans are now regularly working over 40 hours a week, and “work\/life balance” becomes increasingly difficult to maintain when we’re only a text or email away from the office. And this culture of connectedness spills over from the workplace into our personal lives \u2014 7 in 10 parents say that “family time” often consists of sitting silently in front of the TV, lacking the energy to even make conversation or break out a board game.<\/p>\n

Let\u2019s face it, we’re in an energy crisis.<\/p>\n
